Chapter 1

 You have been working in your dad's company for a few months now since you graduated college with honors. He started this company from scratch; it grew with him and turned out to be one of the most famous and best-selling clothing brand in the country.

One of the most important aspects being how Mr. Byun and him were working alongside and developing their companies. Mr. Byun, himself handled a well-known company which designed shoes and accessories. He has been your dads' best friend since childhood, with them being neighbors during their early years. The friendship they share is, in fact, driven closer than that of blood relatives. The trust they have in one another is so strong, to the extent, that till the tender age of seven and innocence, you thought he was your real uncle, until your dad told you the truth, but you kept calling him that either way.

He loves you like his daughter and always was fond of your friendship with his son Baekhyun, you two were inseparable to say the least, you both went to the same school, always studying together, hung out, had movie nights, or went out to the lake next to your street, where you used to take a swim, or watched the sunset while talking nonstop, you even had a tree there, where u engraved on it the first letter of your name and Baekhyuns' with a heart, under it, childishly carved "Forever For life".

Before senior year started, Mr. Byun and his family shifted to another country, you never knew why, you could not even describe how you felt at that moment, as if the whole world just crashed on you, you lost your best friend, that you actually had developed feelings for... you lost the only person that you trusted completely who, undoubtedly always made you feel safe and loved.

You used to stand in front of your room's window, in hopes that he might show up again... You texted him for months but you never got an answer, you cried yourself to sleep every night, never shaking the thought of him out of your mind.

You always felt like your dad knew something but never told you a thing, to add more to it, your dad took over Mr. Byun's Company for the time being. You never forgot Baekhyun and you kept hoping to see him again one day and his parents, they were your family as well...

During your last semester in college, after finishing your midterms, you went to your dad's company as usual for your internship, since you needed it for credits to be able to graduate. You stopped by your dad's office to see him and to start your working day; you were welcomed by his secretary who informed you to go right in since he is waiting for you with a guest.

You furrowed your eyebrows in question, but you shrugged it off and stepped to the door. You knocked on it waiting to hear your dad's voice but to your surprise the door flew open and there stood Mr. Byun with his wide smile that you still remember and tears in his eyes, taken aback by surprise that you could not reciprocate that he is actually here in front of you.

You were soon snapped out of your thoughts when you heard him calling your name, anticipating you to say something. You looked at him with tears in your vulnerable eyes and hugged him with all your might just the way you always went to your father after leaving you for days to travel due of work, you were a mess at that moment, smiling and crying onto his shoulder and repeating

"I missed you so much, I missed Mrs. Byun and I missed Baekhyun so much. Why did you leave, why didn't Baekhyun contact me? Why why??"

You had so many questions you needed answers for, almost four years without a word of them, you couldn't stop yourself from asking over and over again.
