Screaming.
Blood.
Despair.
All of these things were running through your mind...and you were afraid. You must have been seeing hell....but how did you end up here? Not long ago, you were in your private garden.
Right?
In front of you was a uniformed person, running at you. Turning, you ran and ran, only to be tackled to the ground. Tears ran down your face, reaching your arm out toward someone.
You were positive you felt love toward them. Unconditional, despair-inducing love. Right?
"Hey! Wakey wakey!" A voice spoke up.
Your (e/c) eyes were wide open within seconds, and you sat up so fast. You panted as you looked around. "W-where am I?" You asked, looking at the person who woke you up.
She had interesting hair. Black, but there were white streaks; she had blue and pink bangs as well. Not to mention those horns she had. The girl grinned at you and held out a hand. "Stand up! Looks like we're gonna have a beach day!"
You looked at her hand before looking at her face. "Umm...a beach day? Where...are we?" You asked, taking in the sandy beach and roaring waves. You took her hand, allowing her to pull you up.
The girl had a finger to her chin and then grinned again. "No idea! I'm positive we were just at Hope's Peak Academy!"
That's right.....you remembered that school. You had received a letter from there, offering you a spot in its new class of hope. You barely remembered, however, as you were there about a few minutes before coming here. "Yeah. A trip, right?" You asked, remembering briefly about a small bunny....
And as if you conjured it up yourself, the pink bunny itself jumped at you. "That's right! I'm Usami and I'm running this school trip! We are going to get to know each other real well! So be friends, obtain hope fragments, and we'll go back to school! Go on, explore the island!"
The girl from before grabbed your arm and linked it with hers. She spoke up, "Ibuki Mioda, super high school level musician!" She finally introduced herself.
"O-oh, I'm (Y/n) (L/n). Gardener!" You said, smiling slightly to her.
You realized how strange it was that you smiled only slightly. You normally were happy. Possibly it was fear that kept you from being yourself?
Ibuki smiled big for you and pulled you onto the main road of the island. "The people here are kinda funny, huh?"
The people here were interesting....you now took the chance to look at your classmates. There were strange people.....you recognized some of them; must be due to the meeting in the classroom. But something in you said different. Strange, huh?
"Yeah...." They made you feel.....plain. These other people seemed.....like they had so much. The exception was the boy you would learn to be named 'Hajime Hinata.' Even that seemed fake. Something was off, and it made you scared...everything here seemed so wrong.
The girl next to you blinked as she noticed you had stopped. Your eyes were simply stuck staring at a certain person, if you could even call them that. His hairstyle was unique, and his facial expression seemed dark. He didn't look too happy, probably a reasonable explanation being that everyone was forced to be here. Why would you be staring at a guy? He was attractive, but so was just about everyone else here.
"Helloooooooooo? Earth to (Y/n)-chan!" Your new friend spoke up, trying to pull you again. You shook your head and turned to her, following her once again. "Huh, you liiiiiiike him?" She grinned.
For whatever hellish reason, you felt your cheeks heat up. "No, I don't even know his name. He just caught my attention, that's all."
She seemed to have bought it, because she grinned. "Ibuki thinks he's weird, too." You sighed in relief until you were being pushed in his direction. "Talk to him!"
"I-Ibuki, hey-!" You blinked as she ran away. You sighed, but were standing beside the stranger now. He also had black and silver hair, but he didn't seem as open or as happy as Ibuki. What could you say to him? You simply stood beside him, noticing how he was kneeling, looking at the plants below him. "Do....you like plants?" You asked, idiotically. If he didn't, why would he stare?
"They provide-" He stopped, realizing he was answering you, and he quickly turned back to face you. He stood up straight and crossed his arms. He....was so tall; you literally had to look up to him. "You dare come close to an immortal being?" He asked.
He watched your (e/c) eyes blink. "Huh...? Sorry. I just noticed you were admiring the plants, so...." Well you couldn't tell him your friend pushed you at him.
The boy chuckled a little, arms still crossed. "A dark soul such as myself does not admire anything. I am searching for the very flower that grows taller than you, small mortal. The one that mimics the color of the almighty sun." You blinked as you thought about it.
"Did....you mean sunflowers?" You asked him.
He was so proud of himself until you spoke up to him. He looked down to you and asked, "Mortal, what do they call you?"
"Hope's Peak Academy calls me the Super High School Level Gardener." You answered. You could have just answered your name, and now you were embarrassed you gave a less simple answer.
As embarrassed as you were, he laughed. Not that chuckle, but a laugh. You blinked as you were surprised. "I see, so your a mysterious mortal! I suppose I must inform you of what they call me! That 'hopeful' school calls me the Super High School Level Breeder!"
"Breeder? You mean with animals?" You asked. He nodded, tugging on his scarf a bit. "Why were you looking for sunflowers, though?"
The breeder turned his back to you. "Information is not free, mortal gardener."
You put a finger to your chin. "Well if you tell me, perhaps-" You stopped when you saw something moving in his scarf. A tail perhaps? And whiskers! "I can help you find seeds. For the little ones."
He quickly turned around and leaned his face toward yours, looking you up and down. "What knowledge do you have of me?" He had dropped most of his strange speech pattern.
You took a step back since he was so close. "I-I-" You then smiled a bit. "Information is not free, immortal breeder."
Realizing you used his words against him, he looked away, tugging his scarf upwards. "I-I.....I see. I'd appreciate it...."
You smiled for real for the first time.
