I gripped my bag tightly, it clung to my back and my shoulders. I knew I didn't need to hold it this tight, or hold it at all. It would stay on my back by itself. But I wanted to be careful, okay?

Becky had dropped me and Anna off at the highschool just minutes ago. Anna ran away seconds after to her friends, Hester and Rachel, while I went in search of Charlie and Dorothy. In case for some reason you weren't able to guess, today was the first day of school.

I'll admit, I wasn't nervous. I was never nervous for school. I enjoyed school. It's just the people I wasn't too fond of. Like Crowley and his friends. After the incident at the lake, there was no way I had any intention of going anywhere near him.

I approached my friends once I found them, shortly after we eagerly talked about our scheduling.
"Cas, what electives are you taking this year?" Charlie wondered, eyeing her schedule.
"Well... I'll be taking band, as well as photography, with you." I smiled at her and she grinned. Dorothy chuckled.
"That's right, I forgot, we're all taking photography with each other. Any chance you guys are taking PE?" Dorothy winced as she spoke, praying that she wouldn't be alone in her gym class.

But of course, Charlie and I grimaced at the idea of gym. We weren't the most active high schoolers.
"Dammit," she started to groan, but Charlie cut her off,
"I am taking Advanced Computer Design though!"
"How did I end up friends with such nerds?" I asked, which caused Dorothy to give me a 'bitch please' look.
"Because you're a nerd too, Cas, there's no arguing there." She told me, Charlie agreeing.
"You speak true words." She patted Dorothy's back. Charlie was right, it was true words.

It seemed liked forever, but the bell rang and reluctantly everyone made their way in the school. The halls cluttered as I came into my first hour. Which went by smoothy, it was second hour that was a little different. Being me, I was the first one to enter the room, besides the teacher.

I sat down at a random desk, my bag next to me. I read the board and looked at the teacher. It was a simple, 'welcome back from break! Take your seats and we will discuss the guidelines for this class'. The teacher, who I knew as, Miss. Tran, was a small Asian women who packed a punch.

She was one of those teachers who you either loved or hated. If you didn't do your work then a year with her would be hell, but if you were a good student then she was the nicest, funniest, teacher in the whole school.

I personally thought she was a good teacher, not to mention smart. This class was Pre-Calculas, one of the advanced math classes, that I was proud to be in.

Soon enough, kids started to flood into the room and attendence was being taken.
"Hello everyone, I'm Miss. Tran, if you don't know me. We have a new student this year, he is new to the district," murmurs erupted in the room as a shy boy stood beside the teacher, incredibly short for a high schooler... "Sam here," she continued, "actually goes to the middle school, but will be taking this class with us, at the high school."

That figured. I knew he looked young. He had shaggy brown hair and brown eyes. A sweet, shy smile plastered on his face.
"Anyways class, I hope you will do your best at welcoming Sam Winchester to the district, and please... be kind." I saw her eyes go out to some of the kids in the room as a warning.

Sam walked down the rows and took an empty seat behind me. Miss. Tran spent the whole time explaining how this year would work. The final few minutes were left to us to do as we pleased.
"Hey... do you have a pencil I could borrow?" I small voice asked from being me. I turned and saw Sam looking a bit worried.

I nodded and reached into my bag.
"Here you go Sam," I handed him a pencil, "I'm Castiel by the way." I nodded in greeting.
"Wait... Novak?" He asked. I squinted at him, but nodded.
"Yes. Castiel Novak, how did you know?" He blushed a bit and smiled awkwardly,
"Your brother is Gabriel, right? Gabriel Novak?" I nodded again,
"Yes, Gabriel is my brother, how do you know him? He didn't do anything bad, did he?"
"Oh- n-no! Of course not! He's my locker partner."
"Watch out for him so you don't get pranked... I figure I should warn you now." Sam frowned at me, but nodded again.
"Thanks for the heads up. Anyways, I should leave now, I have to be at the middle school in time for my next class... It was good meeting you Castiel." He smiled and stood up, heading to the teacher. I smiled at him as he went, but I couldn't shake the familiar feeling I got when talking to him.

My final class of the day was band, not marching, just concert. I sat down in the same seat I have been sitting in for years now. Kevin Tran, Miss. Trans son, was a small Asian boy with jet black hair and a slightly chiseled yet chubby face, sat next to me. However, I was a bit shocked when a new kid also sat next to me.

He was holding a clarinet as well as me and Kevin. He plopped a reed in his mouth as he began to assemble the instrument.

I couldn't forget his face. He was the one who was at the Gas n' Sip the other day and bought pie. I prayed to Chuck he wouldn't remember me, or this was going to be really embarrassing-
"We have got to stop running into each other." He looked over, and grinned. He's looking at me, he's looking at me, oh my God oh my God-
"Uh," cough cough, "yeah..." I gulped. This guy, wow! He was cute and I was already not a 'people person' as it was, so no doubt I would make a huge fool of myself.

He laughed, "yeah, anyways, it's Steve right? I'm Dean." Dean... I thought, that's a really cute name...

Wait? Steve? I looked at him, very confused, tilting my head. Was he confusing me with someone else.
"Steve?" Now it was his turn to look confused.
"Wait- were you not the guy at the store yesterday? Oh, shit I'm sorry I thought you were someone else-"
"No, that was me, but my name Is- OH wait, I see how you were confused. My name is Castiel, but my manager accidentally gave me the name tag Steve, and I never corrected him." I blushed brightly as 'Dean' started grinning.
"Your manager thinks your name is Steve?" He chuckled, making me blush more.
"Yeah... I probably should have told him it wasn't correct though,"
"Dude that's actually really funny." He laughed more, making me let out a small, awkward giggle. It looked like Dean was going to say something else, but the teacher started talking before he could get in another word.

I've never hated my band teacher as much as I did in that moment.
