Belle's POV
Sneaking around with Jaime was exhilarating. I had never done anything like this or even had a boyfriend with the way I grew up. It wasn't strict, but it was definitely over protective. My parents hated Jaime after this morning, especially my dad. It put him on edge and made him jittery, but Jaime did it all for me. It was sweet.
Anne had parked down the block so Jaime could walk me home without much disturbance. He had my beach bag over his shoulder and the night sky shielded us from the view of any nosy neighbors. We were both in our bathing suits still and I shivered. No one had really changed their clothes. Jaime took the towel from over his shoulders and wrapped it around mine and I thanked him before thanking God that he couldn't see the pink in my cheeks.
"You're blushing." I looked up to see him smiling down at me and I turned my face shyly.
Spoke too soon. But he must really be paying attention to me to see my face in this dark.
"And you must really be paying attention to me." I smirked up at him and it was his turn to look away. Suddenly he stopped me and pulled me behind a tree.
"Hush, hush. We now enter the area the holds the den of the lioness queen and lion king. We must remain silent if I am to return the lion cub-ess and go back to my pack in one piece." He was speaking like the cliché wilderness explorer and I had an outburst of laughter realizing he was talking about my house. He swept me up with ease and ran me to my house. We entered the backyard and he jumped the fence after setting me down gently on the other side. I laughed at his goofiness.
"Jaime Preciado, you are a trip." I was dying of laughter with my arms around his back laughing into his chest. He swept me up once again and carried me underneath the window to my room.
"How do you usually get in?" His tone was confused, looking up at the bare wall of the house.
"I don't know, this is my first sneak in, my room is on the second floor. Damn, the lights are on!" I knew my parents were awake and alive in the house and I sighed suddenly feeling the stress of the situation.
"I'm no good at this. I didn't even open the window before I left. I don't know how I'm gonna get in, but you can tell Anne to drive over and pick you up." I saw him nod and whip out his phone. He walked away to get on the phone and walked out to the car without a word.
Look, he probably thinks you're an idiot. You can't even sneak out, you're so stupid.
I sighed and slid down the side of my house with a frustrated sigh. I heard the car door slam and the sound of Anne's truck driving away. I was alone to think of a way to get in and I heard Jaime sit in the grass beside me with his own beachbag (which was really just a backpack) and looked over. He smiled wide.
"You didn't think I would just leave you here, did you, newbie?" I laughed and playfully pushed him.
"Newbie?" I questioned my new name.
"At sneaking out. You're a newbie." I pretended to be offended and then giggled realizing it was true.
"And I guess you're such an expert?" I raised my eyebrows at him and he smirked.
"Well I don't mean to brag but... I have done my fair share of sneaking around." He pretended to be arrogant and he made me laugh my ass off. He was hilarious.
"Ok then how do you suggest we get in now, oh very wise one?" I was being sarcastic and he shrugged.
"Oh no, this situation is just fucked. Wait for your parents to fall asleep." I knocked my head on the wall of the house, knowing that it might be a while, and let out a groan.
