Fisher grabbed Poppy's bag out of her locker then started heading down the hallway to meet her. The bell rang.
He let out an annoyed sigh. He was hoping he would get to her before it did.
Students started coming out of the classrooms.
He lowered his head as he walked with her bag on his shoulder.
"Fish!"
Fisher halted in his steps. He turned around to see who had shouted his name.
It was Liam. "Where's Poppy?"
"I told her to wait for me in the girls' bathroom. I'm taking her home."
"Why? What happened?"
"The kids were bullying her in class and Chris pushed her. She got hurt really badly."
"How?" Liam furrowed his brows and clenched his fists.
"There was blood all over her mouth. I think her lip got cut or something-"
"What do you do about that?"
"What do you mean? I'm taking her home."
"You didn't go after Chris?"
Fisher shook his head. "The bible says turn the other cheek. I'm not weak minded-"
"You sound like you are."
"For not attacking the guy?"
"Fisher, she's your girlfriend. She expects you to have her back."
"I think she had her own-"
"I'm not going to stand here with you. I'm going to go look for Chris."
"What are you going to do?"
"What you should have." Liam marched off.
Fisher sighed then he started walking again. He couldn't feel guilty about not fighting for Poppy. Physical altercations never ended well. He knew it for a fact. He had fought his brothers multiple times and one of them always ended up injured.
"The crazy b*tch tried to stab me," Fisher heard Chris' voice as he walked down the hallway. He quickly looked around. Liam had gone the wrong way.
Chris stood by a locker showing his friends the video someone had taken.
Fisher thought about texting Liam and telling him where Chris was. He called Poppy a "crazy b*tch". Maybe he deserved a good beating.
He shook his head. That would be hypocritical. He couldn't let Liam do his dirty work for him. He turned to walk away when Chris spoke again.
"Sadie said she was crazy," Chris chuckled. "I just thought she was hot. I honestly wouldn't mind both. A nice piece of *ss with a little bit of crazy."
Fisher froze. He turned back to look at Chris again.
Chris was looking right at him.
Mason stood across the hallway watching them.
Fisher dropped Poppy's bag, pushing it against one of the lockers with his leg. He walked over to Chris and his friends knowing the consequences of what he was about to do.
"What did you just say?" Fisher glared up at him.
Chris chuckled. "I just complimented your girlfriend. You should be greatful."
"For what exactly?"
"That you got a girl to put up with you. Does she know about your Reddit account?"
