I was sitting in my psychology class, tapping my pencil on the paper in front of me. I was looking at my professor but I didn't hear a word he was saying. I even sat at the front of class today, hoping that would get me to focus. All I could hear was those voices replaying in my head, we all float down here.
We all float down here? What does that mean?
My thoughts were interrupted by my pencil snapping in half. I guess I had been hitting too hard.
"(Y/N) you alright?" My professor nodded.
"Yes sir." I chucked the broken pencil in my bag.I walked home from class in the rain, clouds making the sky look dark grey. It was October now, the leaves falling from the trees and the air had become more brisk. My rain boots hit the piles of wet leaves as I walked along the sidewalk. I rounded the corner to my building and I looked up to see Matt walking towards me. I put my head down, trying to avoid him. As we got closer I thought I had a chance of just walking by with no trouble, but that didn't work out. He stuck his hand out, grabbing my elbow, pulling my arm.
"What the fuck is your problem, red?" He shouted.
"What" was all I could reply back before his grip on my arm got stronger.
I winced, looking into his eyes. They were dark, angry.
My heart began to race, I couldn't pull my arm away, he had his fist clenched around it. He was much bigger than me, his muscles bulging out of his coat.
"You made Margaret dump me." He hissed. "You ruined everything."
"I didn't make her do anything." His grip on my arm became unbearable, I'm sure if he pressed any harder he'd break something. I was terrified, I didn't know what to do. Tears began to slip down my cheeks.
"Oh she's crying now" he mocked.
He looked away from me and off into the distance, smiling at himself. Then his brows furrowed and his smile slowly disappeared. I looked behind me to see what he was looking at, and there it was, the red balloon.
Matt still had his arm around mine, he was moving his fingers and I could see he was nervous.
"What the fuck is that?" He looked at me for a second and then back up.
I didn't say anything.
"Did you do this? I always knew you were weird." He trailed off.
He then began to pull me by my arm over to the balloon which was on the other side of the street. The balloon then began to move and Matt pulled me even harder trying to keep up.
"You're coming with me, show me what the fuck is going on." He said sharply.
We then entered the woods, continuing to go deeper as the balloon floated further in between the trees.
We heard a pop! And Matt jumped, "What the fuck was that?"
We stopped and I looked around, my heart actually starting to slow down. I wasn't afraid anymore, I knew he was here. We heard rustling coming from behind me. Matt pulled me around, making me stand in front of him. He heard a few twigs crack and then, it was silent. We waited, the only sound now coming from Matt's heavy breathing and the sound of rain drops hitting the trees above us.
Then in the blink of an eye, Pennywise popped out from behind one of the trees in front of me. I heard Matt gasp and his grip on me tighten for a moment, "ah" I hissed.
"Wh-wh-who are you?" Matt directed to Pennywise.
He was standing still, holding a collection of red balloons on a string, his back arched and that devilish smile plastered on his face. He stayed silent for a moment then straightened out his posture.
"I'm Pennywise the dancing clown" he cheered, just as he did to me when we first met.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Matt yelled.
"You followed my balloon." He said, shaking his head in a don't you know kind of way.
A very small smile crept onto my face but quickly disappeared as Matt pointed looked at me, "it was her." I looked at him in disgust.
"No, no Matthew." He shook his head. "We don't lie to Pennywise" his eyes were glowing.
"Take her!" He let go of my arm, pushing me forward as he began to run away. He didn't make it very far before Penny was behind him and tripped him, making Matt fall to the ground.
Penny jumped on him, mocking his cries. I ran around to hide behind a tree, even though I wasn't scared, I didn't want to be near the mess that was to come.
"Time to float" I heard Penny's low voice say before I peered around the tree, looking only with one eye.
That's when I saw Penny's jaw unhinged and his once bucked teeth were now a row of razors. I could see one of his eyes roll to the back of his head as he clenched down on Matt's neck. I held my hands over my mouth as to not scream and tears began to roll down my cheeks. It was a gruesome sight, blood was everywhere, it rushed out of his neck and onto the ground, mixing with the mud. I felt sick as the smell of copper filled the air. I finally looked away, turning around with my back to the tree. I moved my hands to my ears, covering them, drowning out the sound. It was silent as I watched the trees and the bushes sway and back forth, looking so calm. Then in the distance I spotted something... a deer, it was standing in between two trees. We made eye contact for a moment, a moment that felt never ending, then it ran away. I could see my breath and rain drops were now running down my nose and off my chin. I felt almost serene. Completely away from the horrific act that was happening me. Then, i started to feel dizzy and it all went black.
