You know how I said that there wouldn't be monsters and such during summer? Remember? Well, I was wrong.
Dipper, Mabel, and I were currently running from some hideous, giant monster. Let's go back a bit.
Flashback to a few hours ago.
"Hey Y/N. Wanna go monster hunting with us?" Dipper walked towards me with Mabel behind him.
"Um, sure, but I'm just gonna let you know that I stopped believing in monsters when I was, like, seven." I started towards the door with Dipper and Mabel.
"So, it says here that if you look into its eyes, then you'll see your worst nightmare." Dipper was walking next to me while reading from his weird book.
"Ok. Hey, what's that book you're reading anyways? I've never seen a book like that before," I asked.
"Oh? It's a journal I found. It's really come in handy to." Dipper showed me the cover, which looked really beat up. It had the six fingered hand on it with the three, and there was a little monocle place marker hanging down.
"He found it in the woods around a fake tree and it has lots of different monsters and other spooky things in it!" Mabel grinned, grabbed the journal, and flipped to a certain page. "See? It has gnomes and other things!"
"Okay Mabel. No need to freak her out already." Dipper gently took the journal back from Mabel.
We had been walking for a few hours by now. We were getting to be pretty far into the forest. Suddenly, I heard a twig snap.
"Ummm, guys? Did you hear that?" My voice came out a bit higher than I thought it would.
"Yeah. We heard it." Dipper and Mabel stood a little bit closer to me than they had been.
I searched the trees in front of us for what had snapped the twig. Then, I felt something behind me. Slowly, I turned my head. Behind me stood a gigantic beast that was probably the ugliest thing I had ever seen.
"G-guys?" My voice was even higher now.
Mabel and Dipper turned to look in the direction I was.
"Run! And what ever you do, don't look into its eyes!" Dipper shouted as he turned and started to run.
Mabel grabbed my hand and half dragged me through the trees. We ran as fast as we good, taking many twist and turns.
So now we're running from an ugly monster.
After a few more minutes with random turns, we saw the Mystery Shack in front of us.
"Does anyone have a mirror?!" Dipper shouted to me and Mabel.
"There's one in my room!" Quickly, I run upstairs and grab a small handheld mirror from my room. Then, taking them four at a time, I bolted back downstairs. I throw the mirror to Dipper just as the monster burst through the trees.
Dipper turned and pointed the mirror at the monster. It stopped and stared at its reflection. After staring for a minute, it turned and ran back into the forest.
"Um, what just happened?" I asked.
"Remember, I said that if you look into its eyes you'll see your worst nightmare." Dipper flipped to a certain page and pointed to the picture of the monster.
"Ok. But I have a question."
"Fire away," Dipper said.
"CAN WE PLEASE NOT DO THAT EVER AGAIN?!?!?!?" I shouted. That had been the most terrifying thing to ever happen to me.
"Aw, come on! Me and Dipstick do this all the time! And we're still alive!" Mabel grabbed Dipper as she said that.
"Mabel, if she doesn't want to do this anymore, then she doesn't have to," Dipper said.
"No, it's okay. If you guys can do it, then so can I," I sighed. "But still, that means I kinda have to believe in monsters again, don't I?"
"Yeah, kinda," Dipper shrugged.
"I know something that'll take everyone's mind off of monsters!" Mabel grabbed mine and Dipper's hand and dragged us towards the shack.
Together, we grabbed ten bags of popcorn, fifteen drinks, and twenty bags of candy.
"But, um, why exactly are we getting all this junk food Mabel's?" Dipper asked.
"Because we're gonna stay up ALL night watching Duck-Dective!" Mabel lead us to the tv and turned it on to Duck-Dective.
Time skip to about 3 am. You guys watched, like twenty episodes of Duck-Dective. Hope you had fun!
I stretched and looked at the time. The clock read 3:32.
"Jeez, how many episodes did we watch?" When I didn't get an answer, I looked over to where the twins were. Both were fast asleep on the couch.
I smiled to myself and draped a blanket over them. Then, I headed up to my room.
I changed into my pajamas and flopped onto my bed. But when I did, I felt like there was someone in the room, watching me. I sat up and looked around, but I was the only one there. Tired, I flopped back down and drifted to sleep. But just as my eyes were closing, I could've sworn I saw something looking at me through the window. And then I fell asleep.
