Desperate

Introduction

When Kiana gathered the courage to talk to her, Lily was a party animal. She would drink, go to parties, sleep around, you name it. Kiana didn't like to go to parties, or any social events, that much and preferred to stay home with a good book. They're complete opposites, but opposites attract.

Kiana Jackson is a 16 year old senior at Pacific Grove High School. She is a genius when it comes to academics, but not when it comes to making friends or having relationships. She is so smart that she skipped a grade and is supposed to be a junior. Her hair is blonde, slightly wavy, and about shoulder length. She has a dimple on the right side of her face, but she hates it because she thinks that it is an eyesore. Kiana has striking green eyes, is very pale, and is about 5'6. She is a bookworm and loves to get lost into romantic novels. She lives with her mom, dad, and younger brother, Oliver. She wears thick, black glasses and more often than not has her hair in a high ponytail. She normally wears loose fitting sweaters and sweatshirts, skinny jeans, and her favorite pair of black converse. Her friends will often say that she is desperate to find a boyfriend, but she isn't like that.

Lily Campbell is an 18 year old senior at Pacific Grove High School. She doesn't care about school or her grades, so she is almost failing all of her classes. She loves to go out to clubs and parties with her friends. She is very popular and doesn't normally talk to people like Kiana unless its necessary. Her hair is dark brown, very wavy, almost curly, and is a little longer than Kiana's. Her eyes are bright blue, her skintone is medium, almost tan, and she is about 5'4. She has freckles under her eyes and across the bridge of her nose. She is very wild and outgoing. She lives with her mom and has "daddy issues". She wears a lot of makeup and wears tight, revealing clothes. She often gets detentions and dress coded for the way that she dresses and acts. Instead of styling her hair, she typically lets her hair go wild. She has a nose ring on her left side and a small tattoo on her hip and right purlicue. She will often sleep around, but isn't satisfied. Her friends will often say that she is desperate to find a boyfriend, but she isn't like that.

The thing is, the two girls are gay.

They live in a society where that isn't accepted. The school system and government have tried to brainwash everyone from an early age that being gay is wrong. No one is even allowed to wear or have anything with rainbows on it. They live in Pacific Grove, a confined town far from civilization. Far away from sexual diversity and curiousity.

It's hard living in a society where no one can accept you for who you really are. You have to do everything you know you can't do in secret. If you aren't dating the opposite gender, people call you desperate, even if you really are straight.

The two girls find out that they are desperate. Extremely desperate. They are completely different, but they soon find out that opposites attract.

Sometimes, you have to follow your heart and break the rules.
