Chapter 2

Luke's POV (Last day before break)

It's the last day before the break to begin. Luke and his friends were so excited for break to begin. Only one of Luke's friends couldn't spend the break with them and that was Matt. But Matt made sure that Luke and the others would have a bit of fun while he was on break with his family.

Flashback: 3 days before break

"Alright guys, I know that I can't be with you guys for the break, but I have a challenge for you guys while I'm gone.." Matt said with a mischievous grin.

"Alright, what do want us to do, Matt?" Andrew asked

"Well, I want you guys to be a nice friend to Luke and get him a friend to spend time with while I'm gone," Matt said while grinning from ear to ear.

"What?! Why me?" Luke said surprised

"Because, I think it would be a great idea to have more friends. And why not some female friends?" Matt asked.

"Are you trying to make the others and I get a girl for Luke?" Tyler said mischievously

"NO! I don't need a girlfriend right now and I just want to have a normal break, guys." Luke whined.

"Alright guys, calm down. I want Luke to meet a certain girl. We used to know each other when we were younger, but she moved. I noticed she moved back last school year. But now, she seems different and very distant. I tried to talk to her, but she just ran away from me. I think Luke would be able to open up to her more than me and she is a really great person." Matt explained.

"Why me of all people, Matt? I can talk to others, but why not any of the other guys?" Luke asked confused.

"Because you are the most patient out of all of us. Her name is Christy. She can be a little shy and timid, but I think you are able to let her light shine again. I don't know what happened to her when she moved, but I want her to shine again like she used to when we were younger." Matt explained.

"Come on Luke. If you do it, we will do anything for you. And to add a bonus, Chris will do your homework after the break for two weeks!" Tyler exclaimed.

"Wait! I didn't agree to any of this!" Chris exclaimed

"Well, that sounds like a good deal. But I'll think about it and tell you in class later." Luke said.

"Okay, We'll see you later Luke!" Andrew Exclaimed

Now I'm here just wondering what I should do. I mean, it would be nice to make a new friend, but why does Matt want me to talk to her instead of talking to this Christy girl himself? Oh well, I mean it wouldn't hurt to make a new friend. From what Matt told me about her, she might need a confidence boost. Or she just wants friends. Matt did say that she did move when they were younger; then moved back just last year. Maybe all her friends have changed.

Maybe, this isn't such a bad idea. I think if I get to know her, she might be a great friend. I guess I better tell Matt and the others that I'll do it. I mean the guys will do anything I ask them and Chris will do my homework after the break. Who wouldn't go for a deal like that? I can make a new friend, and have my friends do requests for me.

Time skip: last class of the day. Social Studies

"Hey, Matt! I have thought about what you said." Luke explains

"Well, well, well. What might your decision be, my dear friend?" Matt questioned.

"I'll do it. I will let Christy's light shine and become great friends with her! I know I will!" Luke exclaimed

"Hahaha! I knew you would agree! But just a little head's up. By agreeing, you must talk to her at least 4 different times during break and update me on how it goes." Matt explained

"....Fine, I'll do it; if the other guys continue the deal they made earlier at lunch. Deal?" Luke asked

".....Deal." Matt said
