Sophie's POV

I hoisted my bag onto my shoulder, Professor Flitwick had just finished the class for today. Umbridge was doing rounds today, I didn't think I could manage to contain so much hatred for one woman until she stood up in that hall the first day back. Then again I was probably more bitter that Professor Snape was sat near her. I allowed my feet to carry out the well rehearsed routine down to the dungeons, being in Slytherin I've not taken any route of the castle more than this one.

I turned the corner to see Seamus and Vegard acting like the biggest idiots of the school at the end of the hall, a title they held with pride and would be damned if anyone tried to take it from them. I stuffed my hands into my robe pockets as Draco Malfoy approached the duo, he never really got on with them much, he only behaved himself when I was around. Seamus dropped Vegard to the floor, he had him in a hand boost. As it appeared they had been trying to rig the sound system to sound like a troll spoke whenever Umbridge decided to make an announcement. As if Fred and George needed competition.

"What an earth are you two doing? I can go retrieve Professor Umbridge right now, she is missing people from detention. I'm on the inquisitorial squad you see, I hold some power over you two." Draco and his need to be a drama queen.
"Malfoy calm down, we were just messing around." Vegard tried to reason, he was such a Hufflepuff.
"Oi Malfoy, potions now." I ran up and grabbed him by the arm and began to pull him away.
'Pulling Sophie, don't let Snape see.' Seamus yelled. Did he just?
'What? Sophie you don't- like Professor Snape, do you?' Draco whispered, the hall had fallen silent and Seamus had gone white.
'Very funny Seamus, just don't let Umbridge catch you two, no girls or boys are permitted to be in six inches of each other remember?' I yelled back, hopefully the school will think it's a inside joke.
'Nice one Soph- hang on I am the boy right?' Vegard called out after my retreating figure.

I just had two sets of stairs and it's freedom, two sets of stairs and I see Professor Snape in potions and nobody will be any wiser. I sharply turned with Draco on my right, however I of course had to collide with the one man I hoped had not heard. Severus Snape, why me? What have I done? He looked down his long nose, he towered over me easily. His black, lean figure was strong and broad. Even in halt his cloak still billowed.

"Potions next indeed Miss. Baker." His voice was a low and monotone as always, nothing given away.
'I said that awhile ago sir, were you standing here waiting?' Why did I question him? He doesn't like humour Sophie.

Apparently I was wrong, he smirked down at me: turned on his heel and descended back to the dungeons. I felt inclined to follow him, he never requested me to do so, but that is the thing with this man. He doesn't need to verbally say what he wants or requests of a student, he manages to convey it without flaw through actions. Draco had left me at the top of the stairs, all students I passed who saw me with the potions master gave me pity looks. He led me down several halls, so we didn't seem to be going to the classroom, he opened the door and gestures me to sit in front of his desk.

In his office.
