"One! Two! Three! Four!" I heard from my phone blare from my back pocket. "C'mon, baby, keep it down," I heard. I answered before the person hung up. "Hello?" It was my bandmate, Nick, and he was our guitarist. "Hey, Sapphire," he said happily. "What's gotten you so happy today, man?" I could almost hear his grin through the phone. "I got the band a place." I almost screamed of joy when I heard those words. "No fucking way?! Where is it, man?" I was more than ecstatic because the band has been looking for a place for quite a while now. "It's in L.A., man!" I've always wanted to go back to L.A., its where I was from so how could I not want to go back? "That's great! Do the rest of the guys know?" I almost couldn't speak because of how excited I am. "Yeah, we're meeting in the new house in about an hour." We said our goodbye's and hung up. My phone vibrated and rang again, only this time it was a text message. The message was from Brandon, the band's other vocalist aside from me, and the message text said what the address to the new place was.

I was 20 and still lived with my parents. I know, it's lame. I took a shower and I put on some clothes. I put on a kind of big AA tank top that read, "Get on your knees!", in bold red letters on a black background with high waisted black skinny jeans and my favorite boots. Then, I went over to my mirror and put on brown eyeliner with a bit of mascara and I also put on some chapstick. My hair was it's usual wavy self, not that I minded, it just took a while to brush and dry.

I grabbed my phone and keys from my dresser, along with my wallet and sunglasses because I can never leave the house without them. A few minutes later, I walked into the garage, saying bye to my parents and telling them I'd be back soon. I opened the garage door and saw my most prized possession; my cherry red 1964 Ford Mustang.

I sped off and headed to the new place, it looked big from the outside. I turned off my car and got out. I walked up the walkway that lead to the front door and rang the doorbell.

Nick had answered the door and gave me hug. "Hey, loser," I said and let go. Nick was a few inches taller than me with light brown hair and snakebites on his bottom lip. He was wearing a Blick-182 shirt with black skinny jeans and black Toms. "Hello there," he replied in a poor British accent. "Welcome to your new home." Nick opened the door wider and I spotted the rest of the band. There were five members; Nick our guitarist, myself as one of our vocalists, Brandon the other vocalist, Nathan our bassist, and lastly, Eric our drummer. Our band was called Heartbreak Kids. All of the guys were taller than me and we all had at least one tattoo. Brandon was an inch taller than Nick and was wearing his usual look; a plain t-shirt and jeans with black sneakers and he had his septum in. Nathan was about Nick's height and looked almost the same as Brandon but with a nose ring intead of septum. Eric was also Nick's height and had on a beanie, black v-neck, and blue jeans with sneakers.

I gave all of the guys hugs and after greeting them, I said, "I call the master bedroom!" "I call the garage!" Brandon says and after, everyone starts calling out which rooms they want. "Dude, you know it's gonna be hot as hell in there, right?" I tell Brandon. "Pft, only when I'm in there." He winks and I smack his stomach playfully. "So, who was the first to get here?" Nathan says to no one in particular. Nick raises his hand and everyone starts laughing at him. "What are we, in elementary school?" I say after I'm done. "Yeah, probably you." He retorts and I punch him. Since I was the youngest and shortest, I got picked on the most. "Whatever, you senior citizen." He gasps and puts his hand over his chest, acting hurt. Nick was the one of oldest, besides Brandon. I start walking around the big, empty house. Nick catches up and says, "Alright, fine. You may not be an elementary schooler, but you do have the height of one." I punched him again. "Get bent, jerk." I couldn't stay mad at him, or any of the guys for that matter. They were my best friends and I've known them my entire life.

I walked into the master bedroom and it was pretty big. It was bigger than my room right now. The bathroom connected to it was also big and very nice. All of the bedrooms were carpeted and the rest of the house was either tiled or had hard wood floors. After an hour, I had seen the entire house and met up with the guys in the furnitureless living room.

They were all sitting on the floor in a circle surrounding a 12 pack of beer. It was Nick, Brandon, Eric, and then Nathan. I sat in between Brandon and Nick.

"So, are you guys gonna stare at the beer or drink it?" I start to reach for the beer, but Eric smacks my hand away before it was close. "What the hell, man?" I look at him. "We have to save the beer." "Why?" I ask. "We don't have another case and we got banned from a few liquor stores." I shook my head. "Then does anyone wanna come with me to get another case." They all nod quickly. I get up and fix my jeans. "Can I come?" Nick asks me. "The beer is just taunting me." I nod and tell the rest of the guys that we'll be back in a few.

We walked out of the house to my car. When we got in and turned on the car, I also turned up the radio to hear that a Smashing Pumpkins song was on so I turned it up louder. Nick and I both start singing along. "Loneliness is cleanliness and cleanliness is Godliness and God is empty just like me." We sang at the top of our lungs and when we got to the store, the song was over. I turned down the volume and turned off the car. We walked into the store I went immediately for the snacks and Nick went for the beer. I paid for the snacks and Nick paid for the beer. I made him hold everything while I drove.

When we got to the house, the case of beer that was on the floor, was already halfway gone. "We were only gone for two minutes, guys." I said holding up the bags. "We got thirsty," Nathan said, "in our defense, it was just there mocking us and we couldn't wait any longer." I shrugged and went into the kitchen and opened the case. "Here, you animals!" I yelled to the guys. Eric and Nathan came almost running while Nick stayed in the living room and Brandon came over to me in the kitchen.

He was always the "flirty" one in the band besides me when I have had too much to drink. "Hey, there," he said, trying to be sexy, "I'm not gonna sleep with you, Brandon, so stop trying." I chuckled and pushed him away by placing my hand on his chest and walking past him. He caught up to me and wrapped his arms around my waist from behind and spun me around. I was giggling furiously and kept begging for him to put me down. When he finally did, I smacked his chest and gave a fake angry look. "I love it when you play hard to get," Brandon said. "Shut up," I retorted.

I stayed for about another hour. I was about to get my third beer when I noticed the time. "Holy shit, I have to go, guys." I chugged the beer before I hugged the guys goodbye. "Love you!" I yelled to them. "Love you, too!" I heard them say as I left.
