At the top, is Cora Hardwell "The Dawn" age 16

A day, filled with cold weather and darkness across the world, yeah you guessed it, its the Winter Solstice. In the real world its the shortest day of the year, every year. But in Cora's world, its a day that comes every 600 years and last all 24 hours of the day, that's how the legend goes. This is a tale about Cora, and how she challenges her fate.

As a child, Cora Hardwell was a quiet girl, i mean she was out casted from society, because of the way she looked. She had orange hair, just like a sunrise, and eyes as blue as a sapphire. Her mother and father, a historian and a royal guard, would forget about her and go to her sister, Angel. Angel was an ordinary girl with boring brown hair and dull green eyes that reflected hatred and jealousy towards her sister. Cora always wanted happiness as a child, but happiness and love comes with a price.

When she was 15 and Angel was 16, them both were betrothed by the two princes of Avalon, Prince Henry and Prince Leo. Angel was getting married to Leo, who was 17 , the eldest while Cora was "getting married" to Henry. Cora hated it, so much that she ran away from home a couple of times. Henry treated her poorly and often abused her. Prince Leo, would always get her out of getting 'punishments' from Henry, like escaping to the rooftops and Leo's secret garden, a walk away from the kingdom. They would talk, laugh, and play with each other every day in the garden and the rooftops. For Cora's 16th birthday, Leo confessed to her, but, he was married to Angel for the rest of his life. Tears escaped from his eyes, having to bear with his crushes weak minded, cruel, hateful sister.

"Don't worry L, everything will be alright" Cora said to him to reassure him with a gentle smile. "One day, me and you will have our happily ever after some day. Just pray, OK?". For once in the young princes life was right, he had everything he ever wanted right in front of him, the girl he always wanted, a kingdom to rule with her by his side, everything. Until,

"Son, you are prohibited to see your wife stupid sister. She will ruin this kingdoms future, our peoples future. Now go-"

"NO!" Leo screamed in anger "SHE IS NOT STUPID, SHE IS WAY SMARTER THAN HER SISTER! I DON'T WANT ANGEL I WANT CORA! CORA HAS BEEN WITH ME WHEN YOU WEREN'T! YOU OR MOTHER DON'T CARE FOR ME! I HATE YOU"

"Leo Avalon! Go to your room this instant and finish your studies and get ready for dinner, and ill be having that rat out of this castle by tonight!"

Leo couldn't believe it. He slammed the throne room doors and saw Cora, standing right in front of him with tears in her eyes. "bye Leo, don't forget me" and she ran out the castle, with a little bag filled with clothes and small food for a couple of days, with her cloak on. Leo stood there and watched her leave him, by force. From that day forward he wasn't nice and a gentle person, he was now cruel and bloodthirsty, wanting more power each day. Instead of friends he had slaves. He turned into his father, but worse.

As for Cora, from the day she left she was known as "The Dawn". She found herself in a cave, who was inhabited by the god Apollo and his sister, Goddess Artemis. They took her in, raised her. Taught her how to fight, use every weapon in existence, to sing, to dance, and to write in Dragon and Greek and speak them as well. She was everything to Leo and more, he even had a portrait made of her when he became king and hung it right next to his chair in his quarters, he wanted her back so badly. As for Angel, she died of venom poison from a deadly snake that found its way into the castle. No one in the town mourned over the late Queen, wanna know why? Its because she changed Leo and the kingdom itself, raising taxes, hooking up with the towns men and teenage boys who she had her eyes on. They actually burned her grave sight as a matter of fact.
