It seemed like an ordinary day in the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario was sitting in the Grand Hall of the kingdoms great, white stone castle, with the princess usually referred to as simply "Peach". The Dark king of the Koopas, Bowser, seemed to be fond of kidnapping the princess, but of course failed when it came to battling Mario, and his brother Luigi. "Mario, are you not hungry?" The red hatted hero shook his head, only to reply, "Not very...". Peach giggled, "You need your strength for the tournament. You DID sign up, right?" Marios eyes widened, and he quickly nodded. The only reason he signed up was to impress Peach after all...he cant back out now.
Princess Peach was right. Mario would need his strength, but not for the reason he expected. "Ah sorry to interrupt, but the tournament is starting!" It was Mario's brother Luigi. Mario nodded once, as he and Peach walked out the castle. Citizens pointedand whispered, while others cheered. Princess Peach began, "Welcome citizens, to the first official Mushroom Tournament! Before we get started, I would like to announce our newest recruits for the Mushroom Army..."
