More than Friends

Leah's POV.
Jonah texted me the next day saying,
"Hey I'm sorry about what happened with you and Zach."
I replied, "It's ok."
"He's a jerk for not wanting to go out with you. Any guy would be lucky to have you." Jonah responded.
"Thanks." I texted.
Jonah replied, "You should come over tomorrow."
"I don't know." I answered.
Jonah texted, "Don't worry, Zach won't be there."
"Ok. I'll come." I replied.
The next day I went over to the house. Jonah, Jack, Tate, Gabbie, and I were all going to the movies. I thought it would be weird because I felt like I would be interrupting a date, but it was actually a lot of fun.  Tate, Gabbie, and I talked a lot. I told them stories about Jonah when he was little and we could not stop cracking up. After the date Jack took Gabbie home and Jonah took me and Tate home. Jonah texted me later that night asking, "Hey. Did you have fun tonight?"
I replied, "Yeah. I had a lot of fun. I'm glad I went."
"I'm glad you had fun and I was really happy that you decided to go. I thought you might feel weird being with us and our girlfriends." Jonah texted.
"Oh no. It was fun. I had a really great time." I answered.
"Good. Maybe we can hang out again sometime." Jonah replied.
I texted, "Yeah. I'd love that."
"Great. See you tomorrow?" Jonah asked.
"Yep. Sounds good." I replied.
"Ok. See you later. Goodnight." Jonah texted.
I answered, "Night."

A week later, Y/n's POV.

"Do you think Leah might have another crush?" Daniel asked.
"What do you mean?" I replied.
"Jonah. Her and Jonah have been hanging quite a bit a lately." Daniel answered.
I replied, "No. Leah thinks of Jonah as a friend. Plus Jonah has a girlfriend."
Daniel responded, "Well Jonah is a lady's man, and I wouldn't be surprised. They've known each other for a long time and they've been hitting off pretty well."
I looked over at Jonah and Leah hanging out by the pool.
"I don't know. Maybe." I laughed, "It would actually be kind of ironic if they got together because before we met y'all Jonah was Leah's least favorite band member. I mean she liked him, but she just never thought he was boyfriend quality. In appearance anyways."
Daniel laughed, "That would be very ironic."
"I think they would be a cute couple though." I said.
"Yeah. They would." Daniel replied, "So are you ready for graduation?"
"Yeah. I'm going to college in LA to become a screenwriter. I start this fall." I answered.
"That's really cool." Daniel said.
I looked at my phone.
"I have to get ready for graduation." I said as I stood up.
"Ok. Before you leave I want to ask you something." Daniel replied.
"What is it?" I asked.
Daniel answered, "I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me."
I smiled before saying, "I thought you'd never ask."
After that Leah and I left to go get ready for graduation. The night after graduation Daniel took me on a date. We are at a restaurant on the beach and afterwards we went for a walk on the beach. Then as we were walking we stopped and Daniel kissed me. 4 days later I found out that Cheyenne and Zach got together. Zach texted Cheyenne from an unknown number and got her to meet him at the park. When she got there he gave her a bouquet of flowers and asked her out. Then of course she said yes. Leah was jealous and got mad at Cheyenne, but they made up the next day when this happened....

Daniel's POV.
    The day after Cheyenne and Zach got together me and y/n were hanging out. Cheyenne, Leah, Raven, and the rest of the band were there too. We were all hanging out at the house. We were watching a movie when y/n put her head on my shoulder. When she put her head on my shoulder I could feel that she was sweating and her forehead was really hot.
"Are you ok?" I asked.
"Yeah I'm just really tired." She replied.
I said concerned, "You're sweating and you're really warm."
She coughed. "I'm fine. My side just hurts really bad.  It's been hurting a lot lately. I think I just need to lay down."
"Ok." I replied.
She stood up then fell to the floor clutching her stomach. She started coughing nonstop.
"Come on. Let's get you to the hospital." I said as I scooped her into my arms.
We drove to the hospital and when we got there the nurses took her to a room. They said they were going to run some tests. We called her parents and they came down to the hospital. The doctor said they would keep her overnight to run some more tests.
The doctor said, "We're keeping her overnight to run some tests. We found some cancer cells in her lymph nodes, and it looks like she may have lymphoma."
I felt tears sting my eyes. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
