*beep!* *beep!* *beep!* *be-SLAM!*
John slowly opened his eyes, already feeling the Monday morning eating away at his last shreds of sanity. "Sigh..." he muttered under his breath. He looked over to the alarm clock to check the time. It was 6:00 a.m. and still dark out side. He moved one leg off the bed. *plop*. He moved tehe second off. *plop*. He sloooowllyyy slid off the warm and welcoming bed onto the cold hard floor.
After pulling himself and finishing his morning routine, he trodded along to the kitchen and took out a microwaveable meal from the freezer. The cool breeze that came after opening it was fairly refreshing, which made him feel a bit better, but then he remembered it was monday and the first day of school and his mood was ruined almost instantly. He shoved the opened beef meal, probably NOT organic, into the microwave with minimal force and slammed the door. He set the time on it to 2 minutes. 2 minutes of suspense. 2 minutes of standing there hungry, knowing on the other side of the plastic-metal microwave door was your food getting microwaves shoved through it and slowly cooking only the outside and leaving the inside sort of cold.
After taking out his meal, he quickly started forking it in. The artificial beef, as usual, tasted amazing. At least, better than the sorry excuse his mom's was. His mom was still sleeping in her room in the apartment, and he could hear her snoring. He chuckled a little and went back to eating his food like a wild beast. After finishing the last bit of mashed potatoes and licking off the beef sauce, he got to packing his backpack and finally left for the bus.
