Jac pulled up outside Fletch's house, got Emma out of the car and rang the doorbell. Mikey answered the door and smiled.
'Hi.' Jac smiled.
'Hi. Do you want to come and play Emma?' Mikey asked Emma in a small voice that Jac thought was cute.
'Yeah!' Emma shouted.
Fletch walked down the stairs telling Jac that he was just waiting for Evie to finish getting ready. He stopped on the bottom step and just stared at Jac.
'What?' She frowned.
'You look beautiful.' Fletch smirked making his way towards Jac and tucking a strand of wavy hair behind her ear.
Jac smiled. 'Thanks, you don't look to bad yourself.' She pecked his lips.
About 5 minutes later,Evie came down the stairs and announced she was ready. They climbed into their cars, Theo getting in with Jac and Emma, and drove to the restaurant.
Once they arrived at the restaurant, they piled in through the door, asking the waiter for a table of seven.
They sat down and Jac immediately felt Fletch's had slide straight to the top of her thigh, she sent him a warning glance and he just smirked and turned to the kids.
'So what does everyone want to eat then?'
The meal was nice and Jac had really enjoyed herself. She enjoyed being part of a family, the family she never had growing up.
When they arrived back at Fletch's house the all sat together in the living room and watched a film. Jac sat next to Fletch, her head resting on his shoulder, with Theo tucked into her side and Emma laying across both her and Fletch's legs. Ella was sat on the floor between Mikey's legs and Evie was sat next to him. Jac felt at home, she felt as if she truly belonged, she was overwhelmed by emotions. Tears brimmed Jac eyes, Fletch was the only one to notice, concern filling him.
'Hey, you okay?' He whispered delicately in her ear.
'I'm fine. It's nothing really.' Jac smiled. Fletch wasn't convinced but he didn't want to push the matter so decided it would be a conversation to have later on.
By the time the film had finished Theo had fallen asleep against Jac and Emma had moved so she was now poking Theo's forehead as he slept, giggling away to herself.
'Emma, leave him alone, he's trying to sleep.' Jac said in a flat tone. She smirked and jumped of the couch to play with Sarah the pig.
Jac stood up to take Theo to bed, she bent down to pick him up and as she lifted him she gasped and squeezed her eyes shut in pain. Fletch shot up immediately and took Theo from her.
'Hey why don't you go and lay down upstairs and I'll bring you up a cup of tea.' Fletch spoke with a concerned face, knowing she wouldn't want him to make a big fuss in front of the kids.
As Fletch was putting Theo to bed Evie made Jac a cup of tea and took it up to her. Evie knocked on her dads bedroom door and walked in.
Jac smiled at Evie.
'Hey.' Jac spoke softly.
'Are you okay?' Asked Evie as she handed Jac the tea.
'Yeah I'm fine, you don't need to worry about me.' Jac spoke with a smile. Evie moves to sit beside Jac on the bed.
'You do know it okay to not be strong all of the time.' Evie states. Jac smiled at the young girl.
'Of course I do, It's just the past few months have been hard, not just on me, but on your dad and you kids too. I don't want any of you to see me in pain, it's not fair.' Jac replied truthfully.
'I know you don't want us to see you in pain, and believe me we definitely don't want to see you in pain Jac. We love you, all four of us. We love having you around and having a female figure in our lives, and dad love having you around. I haven't ever seen him this happy, you mean a lot to him.' Evie said genuinely.
Jac smiled feeling a lump form in her throat, it was truly everything she ever wanted.
'Emma and I love being around too, I love all four of you, you all mean the world to me.' She paused. 'I love him so much, I'm just worried I'm not good enough for him.' Jac whispered.
She felt a bit stupid, she wasn't really sure why she was telling Evie all of this, she hadn't even told Fletch she loved him yet. However she felt that she could trust Evie, even if she was a teenage girl.
Evie laughed.
'You know he loves you too Jac? He didn't shut up about you ever. And don't worry about not being good enough for him, he was worried about the exact same thing. - I have four kid, I'm a nurse. - blah blah. You make him happy and he makes you happy, so we are all happy and the pain, well that will take time to heal and we will all be there to help you on that journey, but right now you need to stop worrying you're not good enough for him and focus on what you are cooking for dinner tomorrow night.' Evie smirked. 'Dads working late so we were hoping you would come round when you finished work.'
Jac laughed.
'Of course I will come round and cook you dinner, or maybe we could order something in. I'm not the best chef in the world.'
'We would love that.' Evie smiled
As she got up to leave Jac to rest, she hugged her before leaving. Jac felt an overwhelming flood of emotions for the young girl. She squeezed Evie tight.
'Never change Evie.' She mumbled in her ear.
Evie smiles as she pulled away and left the room, at the door frame she turned around.
'Rest'
Jac smiled as she closed the door, she changed into a pair of Fletch's joggers and a large t-shirt and climbed into bed, she would have to go and collect clean cloths in the morning for her and Emma, but right now she didn't care. She was happy and she no longer felt like she was not good enough for Fletch because she truly believed every word Evie had told her.
