The crowd was getting larger and the officials were struggling to contain the crowd. The continuous slapping of hands on my shoulders had me clenching my fist and biting my tongue from releasing some colorful words. I kept my eyes focused on my feet as I walked fast, but every now and then my arm would brush past Peeta's, giving me small shivers that I hoped weren't noticeable. We were soon in front of a large building with so many levels. I looked up and suddenly felt nauseous. Not only am I sick of these hunger games, I am also afraid of heights. I snapped out of my daze when I heard the sound of stomping feet behind me. Slowly I turned around and widened my eyes at the crazy Capitol citizens running towards us, screaming and shouting while waving their hands in the air.

"HOLY SH-"

"Don't say it!" Haymitch scolded me.

"Quick. Let's go inside" Effie said clapping her hands and smiling, but I could tell there was a hint of worry and fear in her eyes. I'm starting to feel sorry for Effie, knowing that she never got attention due to the continuous and easy deaths her tributes faced in the first thirty seconds of the game. There was no reason to know the Capitol escort if your District was always the first to die.

I breathed a sigh of relief when we made it into the large building and the glass windows closed, allowing the Capitols to squish themselves like a sandwich against the glass. I giggled at the sight but instantly stopped when I noticed Effie glaring at me with her demon eyes.

Effie suddenly perked up and fixed her hair.

"Welcome to your new home! this is where you will be staying before the games. Oh and this is the lobby, where you can come down here anytime to chat with Capitols or just watch the streets" Effie sighed dreamily, walking towards an elevator. She skipped into the open doors and motioned for us to follow. I cautiously stepped in, not trusting Capitol technology. Once everyone was inside, the doors closed and shifted making us fall. Unfortunately I fell into Peeta's arms and blushed as he looked down at me shocked. I immediately shot out of his arms and straightened my dress before turning away from him.

The doors opened and I slowly stepped out, walking down the long hallway towards our headquarters. I gasped when I entered the main room. The walls were a smooth grey surface, with intricate vine designs carefully painted in the corners. Leather couches were placed in the middle with a large TV screen hanging on the wall. Little bits of furniture complimented the room with a large chandelier hovering in the middle.

"Welcome to your new home! We are at the very top and so we get the penthouse!" she says excitedly while walking around the room, looking like she's seen it for the first time. I can't help but be amused by Effie's little outburst of excitement. She would giggle like a little child whenever she touched a small vase and squealed every time she saw something pink.

"Effie. Could you please show me to my room?" I whisper. Effie just shuffled towards me and guided me across the room and down a hallway before stopping in front of a door. "This is your room. Katniss's room is on your right and Peeta's on your left." she said before disappearing behind the corner. I gripped the doorknob and took a deep breath before pushing the door gently.

Once again I was amazed by the interior design. The walls were coloured a soft brown color with white and green vines. A large bed, with purple silk sheets. So many pillow were neatly placed in the middle of the bed in height order. The smooth concrete ground had a soft white rug in front of the bed. Lantern like lights were hanging from the ceiling. There were paintings of the players that will be in the hunger games this year. They were all wearing there outfits the day of the reaping, looking fierce, confident and smart. Although what scared me the most was President Snow standing in the background, gripping his cane tightly and smirking. His white hair smoothly pulled back, showing his perfect white teeth gleaming into the camera. I quivered at the thought of the old man, brushing thoughts of him out of my mind. But nothing wiped the memory of his creepy grin, with eyes glaring at me.
