You continue to lay there on the ground until the heat emanating from you slowly subsided and you could get back to work...

...

The hydration canisters were half full, but the cable you'd salvaged was good and sturdy for a couple climbs or getting some food traps set up.

The healing gel you'd picked up was almost finished and would only be enough to heal one serious wound; you placed it in the medical box.

You looked over to the general, he was still knocked out. his face, now scrunched in pain, seemed to be a little redder than an hour ago when the shuttle blew. after dragging him over to the tree, you had a quick look at his wounds and assessed that he was in no need of healing gel; his wounds weren't deep enough to cause any infections or any serious blood loss, thank god.

You looked up at the canopy of trees, the sun was beginning to set, and the air as you had noticed was becoming chilly. You were still cooling down from your escape, and the air was making your skin feel lukewarm.

However, for the general, he needed to be kept warm. He was still wearing his coat when you saved him, but now its draped over him so to keep him from getting cold.

The general moved a bit under his makeshift blanket, he was shivering and in pain, but he was conscious now. You took one of the hydration canisters and crawled over next to him; a little splash of water should help him wake up.

you needed him to be ok...

you spilled the bottle's fluid onto your hand and moved it to his face, dripping it over his dry mouth. his tongue slowly licked his lips, hungry for hydration.

you poured a little more onto your hand and moved it again over his mouth, slowly dripping it so he could drink it. his eyes began to move under his eyelids, his brows furrowed as he tried to open them.

again, you poured more water onto your hand; you just needed him tp wake up. if you could get him to stay conscious, maybe for a while, you could go and find a place to make camp. You didn't want to leave him unconscious. If you left now he might wake up and wonder where he was, and perhaps wander off through the woods without knowing if there was someone else around who was still alive...

you continued to think for the worst; He might get attacked, or maybe someone takes him, or even die of hunger as he wanders aimlessly through the forest...

You shook the canister and noticed the limited slooshing from it meant that the water was getting dangerously low. so you took what was left of it and poured it into the other canister.

Then with your cool wet hand, you moved it to his cheek and continuously patted it.

"hey-"

The general's eyes moved under his lids more, his lips parted and let out a little groan. you were growing impatient with him, why wouldn't he just open his eyes already? you lightly grab his cheeks and moved his head side to side with some vigor.

"Hey.", your voice echoed with force.

That bit of annoyance you had mustered up must have gotten to him because his eyes fluttered wide open as he saw you. his head jerked back from your hand as he tried to move away from you. He must have thought you were some rebel; you were without your armor, so it would be understandable how he could have thought that...

he hissed in pain as he quickly tried to stand up, only to fall back down. you catch him before he could face plant into the ground.

he let out a little gasp of irritation as you grabbed his hurt arm and torso.

"general, please calm down, your body is still bruised from the crash."

"...the. crash?..." his body stopped squirming as he loosened up to you.

"yes, sir..."

you slowly ease him back down to the base of the tree, his eyes moved onto you, studying you. you moved back so he could get a better look, to show him you were no threat. he looked at your armor that was tossed to the side, but his face still deemed suspicion.

it was silent between the two of you... awkward even; that is until you broke the silence.

"I am FN-4047..."
