Once Jason is finished talking with 'shaggy' he walks over to me, gently lifting me from the floor he walks me over to the couch.

"I'm going to make sure that you are protected at all times, I promise." He tries to reassure me. "What did this wolf look like?"

"His fur is reddish brown with yellow eyes, I gave him a scar over his one eye." Jason looks at me, obviously shocked by that last part. His dumbfounded look calms me down and I let out a short chuckle.

"What happened?" He asks and it's my turn to be confused. " What happened to your pack?"

I think over the events of that night, carefully formulating my words in my head. "I woke up to the sound of fighting and when I left my room my pack was being slaughtered. I smelt smoke and started to make a run for it when the red wolf attacked me. I managed to claw at his eyes and he let me go but then grabbed me again and threw me into a wall. He and the pack left me for dead and when I came to, my home was engulfed in flames." Jason carefully processes everything I told him.

"And you never tried looking for help?"

I shake my head and I feel tears filling my eyes and Jason wraps his arms around me, filling my heart with warmth and I can feel my wolf smiling a goofy smile as she wags her tail. She can act like such a pup sometimes.

"Do you have any clue why the Dark Moon pack would attack your's?" He asks and I shrug my shoulders.

"No, I don't."

"Well, until things are sorted, you are not allowed to step foot out that door without me or a guard." He tells me and I timidly nod.

"Shaggy?" I ask him and he lifts an eyebrow. "You know, shaggy brown hair and green eyes?" I use gestures as I speak.

Jason breaks into a fit of laughter. "You mean Zane?" He then looks at me with a more serious look. "No, the guard I picked for you has a mate."

Right, your stereotypical possessive Alpha. Of course he wouldn't want an unmated male guarding me.

"What is his name?"

"Axel." He responds bluntly.

Jason then gets up from the couch, kissing the top of my head as he does so, before heading to the kitchen. I watch from the couch as he grabs various ingredients and utensils from the cabinets and fridge. When he walks back over he has two bowls of ice cream. He sets a few things on the coffee table and then sits back on the couch, digging into his ice cream. His vanilla ice cream was topped with a mountain of whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and......gummy bears. Talk about a sweet tooth.

Looking over to the table I see the same ingredients. I just grab the chocolate syrup and put it on mine.

The rest of the night me and Jason are up all night laughing and talking as I put the red wolf out of my mind.

I'm sitting before my mirror, brushing my auburn hair till it shined like my emerald eyes.

As I stare back at my reflection I'm interrupted by my door opening. Looking at my door through the reflection of the mirror I see my mate, Erik.

Placing the brush down, I walk hastily over to him. Wrapping my arms around his neck I plant feather kisses along his jawline.

"What's wrong, usually you can't keep your hands off me?"

"One of them survived." He murmurs.

"What?!" I slap him across him face. "How could this have happened? Who?"

"The dark gray female wolf." He looks me in the eyes. First she marred my mates face and now she is still alive.

"I want her head on a silver platter." I snarl through clenched teeth.

"That's going to be difficult. She is with the Blood Moon pack."

"I don't care. If I'm to have what's rightfully mine, she must die. You promised me that you would make it happen. But now she is still alive. She ruins everything!" I snap.

"And I will, you will have complete control over the Golden Moon pack's land, I swear." Erik pushes a stray tendril of hair back behind my ears, kissing my forehead, taming my raging wolf.

Letting a smile spread across my lips, I grab the collar of his shirt and pull him to them.

At some point I must have fallen asleep, when I wake up I see Jason's chest. At first I was a little startled but soon I find myself burying my face into his warm chest, wishing to the Moon Goddess to be able to breathe in his scent. I sit there listening to the rhythmic beating of his heart as it lulls me back to sleep.

The next morning I wake up but he's gone, and my wolf whines, both of us disappointed. I notice a blanket draped over my shoulders and a faint smile creeps onto my face though deep down I wished he was still here.

Making my way up the stairs and to my room I quickly shower and change. Putting on a blue tank top and a pair of dark wash jeans and start looking around for Jason.

I hear his voice and it is coming from the other side of a door. Usually the door was closed but today it was left slightly ajar. I give the door a quiet knock and Jason's voice gently calls from the other side for me to come in.

With my heart racing I push the door open the rest of the way and quietly shut it behind me. Jason is sitting at his desk and talking on the phone. I walk to the side of the room and sit on a black leather couch and read one of the many books in the room. The walls were white and the floor was dark oak but the desk, shelves, couch, and chairs were all black. Jason hangs up the phone and starts doing paperwork. Out of the corner of my eye I catch him looking me up and down through my lashes.

"You know it's hard for me to concentrate with you in here?" He mumbles.

"Would you rather I leave?" I close my book and stand up from the couch. Jason looks at me, beckoning me over with his hand.

I walk over to him and he pulls me into his lap causing me to squeal.
