This is my first published fan-fiction ever, and is also my first published story.  And it's about Harry Potter, or in his world, anyway. That says a lot. I welcome your comments and hope you enjoy!

I am also dedicating this chapter to TheShortie because she was kind enough to surprise me with a book cover! Fan her, she's awesome!

I would also like to note that all members of the cast are beggining Hogwarts as younger versions of their Celebrity selves. So the more the story progresses, the older the look and eventually look like they do today. Good? 'kay. Enjoy!

Chapter one- Acceptance

"Gwen! Come inside now, dear. Dinner is ready!"

I sighed as I closed my book and swung my feet off our porch swing and went inside our house.

It was a lovely home, the outside was a light blue, so light you could barley tell! We had flowers in flower boxes and by our walkway and down the driveway and everywhere we could put them. The shutters were white and the door was white as well, and a silver door knob. It had been my house for as long as I could remember, but my mom told me we had lived somewhere else.

"Where's dad?" I asked as I sat at my chair at the dinner table, noticing his absence.

"Oh, he's still at work, honey, he has a meeting. He'll be home late tonight."

"Oh." Was all I could say.

How could he be late coming home today? Today was my birthday, and after all, shouldn't a dad be home on his daughter's birthday? You're only 11 once, you know!

My mom, sensing my disappointment, said, " We can have cake and ice cream after dinner, sweetheart! He should be home soon, anyways! I suspect he'll be home in the middle of dinner."

With that said, she set the mashed potatoes on the table and we dug in.

She was right. My dad made his entrance by bursting through the door, saying, "Happy Birthday Gwennie! My little Girl, oh my Gwen, How she is growing so fast!" and scooped me in a hug.

"Dad! How was work?"

"Dreary and positively dreadful knowing that today was your birthday and I wasn't home to see you!"

"Well, come on and eat! You must be starved!" I said as I dragged him to the table.

After dinner we were sitting at the table still and looking at each other, enjoying on another's company.

"Gwennie, I do believe that your hair has gotten even redder than it was before, I didn't think that was even possible!" My dad observed.

"Dad, my hair has always been this way, but it might be longer. But I do think that with this heat and humidity it has gotten curly-er and frizzy-er!"

My dad looked at me funny. "Are you sure those are words? I think the heat and frizzy-er hair is messing with your head." My dad played with me.

"Oh, are you sure, Doctor? Is it contagious?" I played along.

"No, I don't think so, but it is mildly amusing and also very harmful to your brain, as you have just demonstrated for us." He motioned to himself and my mother, who was quite beside herself with giggling.

"Alright, enough you too and lets have some cake!" My mother said with a smile.

They sang Happy Birthday and urged me to blow out my candles, which I did rather vigorusly, if I do say so myself. I also made a wish, but I couldn't possibly tell you what it was,  for if I did, it would never come true, you see?
