Dear Diary,
Today is my birthday and I don't feel like celebrating. Katherine is still pretending to be Elena, I'm not talking to Damon since he almost killed Jeremy and Caroline is still upset about Tyler. Besides, why would I celebrate something so futile? Birthdays should be banned, especially to a 167 year-old vampire like me. My life couldn't be worse!
"Happy birthday!" Stefan said while entering my room with a huge smile on his face. "This is the first birthday we've spent together since 1864." He pulled me into a hug. "I'm so happy to have you here and that we were able to repair our relationship."
I pulled away from the hug and smiled at my brother. "Thank you, Stefan. It means a lot to me that we're good." I looked down and my smile faded. "It just sucks that Damon is not here with us to celebrate my birthday."
Stefan cupped my cheek and looked right into my brown eyes. "I'm gonna bring Damon back!" He smiled slightly. "Elena and I are going on a roadtrip to find Damon and force him to deal with everything that has happened."
"Elena is going?" I gave him a stern look and placed my hand on his chest. "Just be careful Stefan! Elena has been acting different and Damon is really unstable. Plus, Enzo is with him and he's kinda insane."
Stefan smiled. "I'll be careful, Mia. Just promise me to have fun while I'm gone." He kissed my cheek and walked towards the door. Then, he turned around with a dazzling smile on his face. "I love you, little sister."
I smiled. "I love you too, Steffy." He closed the door behind him and I sighed. Katherine was going on the trip to take advantage of my brother. I mean, he still has feelings for Elena but he's faithful to Damon. Right?

Caroline texted me asking me to show up at the Grill. I entered the bar and saw my blonde friend sitting on a booth with a huge grin on her face. I noticed a small cupcake with a candle right in the middle and then Matt walked to the booth holding two beers. "What is this?" I asked while sitting across from Caroline.
The two of them glanced at each other and then looked at me with huge grins on their faces. "Stefan called and said it was your birthday but you were feeling kinda sad."
"So we decided to prepare something special for you." Matt added. "You deserve a nice birthday since you've been a great friend to us." He winked at me and them kissed my cheek. "Happy birthday, Mia!"
Caroline lit the candle and smiled. "Make a wish, Birthday Girl!"
I closed my eyes and thought about my brothers. I blew out the candle and smiled at my friends. "Thanks, guys!" I hugged them both and opened the beer Matt brought. "I'm starting to enjoy my birthday." I took a sip of the beer and smirked.
Matt pulled something from a bag and smiled while Caroline rested her chin on her hand with a small smile. "This is for you." He handed me the present and I smiled. "Open it! It's not a big thing but we think you'll like it."
"You guys..." I was really emotional about their gesture. I opened the gift and saw a frame with a picture of all of us together. A tear slipped from my eye and I looked at the both of them. "This is perfect!"
Caroline smiled. "Read the card!"
I opened the small envelope and read the card Caroline mentioned. "You came into our lives and made them better. You're a great friend, a loving sister and an amazing person. We all cherish you, Mia Salvatore." I smiled at them. "I'm so lucky to have all of you in my life." I wiped the tears from my eyes. "All that's missing is Damon."
Matt sat next to me and ran his hand through my back. "He'll be back in no time. Don't be sad, Mia!" I smiled and we got to chat for a bit. This birthday was not as bad as I thought it would be. My friends are truly amazing!

I parked my car in front of the Boarding House and climbed out of it. Stefan texted me saying he was having car trouble and, for some reason, I knew Katherine was behind it. The front door was ajar and my heart started to race in fear. I opened the door and saw a few candles lit up. "Jeremy!" I called.
As I moved to the living room, I noticed the fireplace was lit and that really ticked me off. "Surprise!" I turned around and saw Jeremy holding a single scarlet red rose. "Do you really think I would forget your birthday?" He stepped closer to me. "Happy birthday, Mia Salvatore!" He whispered in my ear.
I grabbed the rose and smiled while a tear streamed down my face. "Are you trying to make me cry, Jeremy Gilbert?"
He placed his two tough hands on my hips. "It seems like I succeeded." Jeremy pulled me closer to him and kissed my lips softly. "We didn't get to have fun after the ball so your birthday will have to do."
It felt like I was on cloud nine! Jeremy was the best boyfriend I could ever ask for. I jumped into his arms and wrapped my legs around his waist. "This is the best birthday ever!" I whispered before kissing him passionately. He returned the kiss and we fell onto the couch. My phone started ringing and I sighed. "There's always someone interrupting our alone time!"
Jeremy took the phone from my hands and grinned. "Just ignore it, Mia." He kissed my neck and it felt so right.
I snatched the phone from his hand and kissed his lips. "It could be Stefan." I smiled and picked up the call. "Hello!"
"Happy birthday, Mia!"
My jaw dropped and my hands started to shake uncontrollably. "Damon..." He hung up the call but my heart kept racing like a freaking NASCAR race. Damon remembered my birthday and called. He's still my brother!
