It broke my heart, to see Amber kiss the stranger on the cheek through my vision. Although we weren't exactly boyfriend and girlfriend, I expected her to have at least some attraction to me. The visions had started this morning, one day after she ran away. I didn't know who she was and why he was there, but I planned on getting her back

All the paintings on the wall were beautiful. My jaw dropped. Was that the original Mona Lisa hanging casually on the wall? If this was the real Mona Lisa, that must mean that the one in Paris is a fake or a copy. Taking my phone out, I snapped lots and lots of pictures of the paintings, so I could remember them if I ever were to leave.

Creeping up behind me, Connor wrapped his arms around me and returned a kiss on my cheek. His breath was cool and when he kissed me, sparks ran through my cheek and I smiled bashfully.

Feeling a little bit more confident, I grabbed his hand and fit it to mine. It felt so natural I almost forgot about Aidan. Almost. But not quite. I had a feeling this would lead to something more, much more.

The girl with the brown hair who was Connor's mate reminds me of someone I used to know.

*Flashback*

"Run kids! Run!" Screamed an elder. I ran as fast as my 4 year old legs could carry me. When I was deep into the forest I remembered my younger sister Amber who was 2 and too young to run. My parents were back there too.

Tears streamed down my face and I vowed to just make my parents proud if they survived.

So you see, I thought she was my sis. So I have to wait and see.

She was so much better than I had ever hoped. With a great sense of humour and the most beautiful smile, she was easily the best mate in the whole world.

Laughing at her joke, we arrived at the kitchen, where most of the pack was eating. "Guys, I found my mate! This is Amber," I announced proudly and she waved shyly. The pack said hello and I led her to my-no our room.

I left to let her explore and wander, not knowing what she was about to do.

As much as I liked this place, my place in the world was with Aqua and Keith, even if I needed to leave my mate in the process. Just then, the most ironic song came on my phone.

When the days are cold and the cards all fold,

And the saints we see, are all made of gold.

When your dreams all fail and the ones we hail

And the worst of all, all the bloods run stale.

I wanna hide the truth, I wanna shelter you.

But with the beast inside, there's nowhere we can hide.

No matter what we breed, we still are made of greed,

This is my kingdom come, this is my kingdom come.

Hearing my favorite part, I sang along. "They say it's what you make, I say it's up to fate. It's woven in my soul, I need to let you go. Your eyes they shine so bright, I wanna save their light. I can't escape this now, unless you show me how!"

Suddenly remembering my group and the reason of my existence, I jumped out the window, shifted without thinking and ran off in the direction I came from. I knew it was rash, but I didn't care at the moment.

When I saw her running through the trees, I was excited and I ran off so I could greet her there. She jumped into my arms, nuzzling my face and I laughed, because I was ticklish there. Happy beyond relief, I cried. I don't cry. Shifting back, she saw that I was crying and comforted me.

"Shh...Don't cry, I'm here now and that's what matters the most," she whispered. I immediately felt better.

"Umm...Amber I kinda registered you to a school near here. Is that okay?"I asked worriedly. Nodding, we continued to hold each other until Aqua and Keith saw us and squished us between them in a giant bear hug. I felt happy.

Waking up with a start, I realized I wasn't with my mate but was with instead, my friends and family now. I knew I had high school but I wasn't worried.
