Princess Annebelle's P.O.V

"You can't leave." Lizzie smiled hopelessly at me. "I'm the Princess Royal of England. I have a duty to our country to marry the french prince and secure the alliance, Belle. You'll understand later on in life." I shook my head, refusing to understand why she was expected to marry someone she did not love. Why were we expected to follow all of out Father's orders? "Mother isn't here to say her farewells, you may not leave until then." She laughs at me. "Mother will not come to send me off, Belle. She has to stay at court, where she belongs. We must learn to be independent now. You will be off to Germany soon, to marry the duke." I continue to deny her statement.

I'm only twelve yet my parents persist on marrying me off like I am a woman. I wish to stay in England and marry when I am ready. "I will not follow Papa's demands. The duke is too old and I cannot bare him children. There is no point in this marriage." Lizzie agreed. "He is old and will die before you will consummate the marriage. You need not fret, sister. You will be back in England before you know it." It's too bad she was not as lucky. Her husband was young and show'd no signs of dying soon. She'd never be back on English soil. "I'll never see you again." Her smile dropped completely. "Don't say things. I will send for you in the time is right. I may be leaving, but will see each other again. I promise."

As we hugged a final time, tears weld in my eyes. I did not want her to feel sad so I did not show them. Lizzie was hurting enough as it is.

"Papa, I will not goto Germany." My mother and father gave me bewildered expressions. "And why is that, Annebelle?" Making sure I was sitting up straight and held my ground, I stared my Father right in the eye. "I simply do not wish to marry the duke. I never consented to this marriage." Mother remained silent as Father grew upset. "You are mine to do with as I see fit. You are going to marry the duke, end of discussion." I slam my hands on the table, causing him to jump from his seat, furious. "I would goto Germany, even if you drugged me and threw me onto the boat yourself! Cut me off! Punish me! Exile me! I do not care! This marriage is unjustified and pointless and I refuse to participate!"

Before he could argue another word, I stomped out of our private dinner chamber.

Anne's P.O.V

Henry fell into his seat as we watched our daughter stomp out. "She sounded so much like your sister when she refused to marry the Portuguese King and married Charles instead." He said nothing. "Perhaps, you might take her feelings into account before we have another Mary on our hands." Henry stared up at me. "She say she reminded you of my sister, yet the woman I saw in her tonight was you." I did not know whether that was a good thing or bad thing. "She is you, Anne." He smiled at me, just thinking about it. "And how can I make the daughter who reminds me so much of the love of my life upset. You may tell her that she will stay here with us in England." I took his hand, kissing it. "I'll do so then, my love."
