I was out of options.
The only person I had to turn to was Jade. After everything I'd been through I never thought I would need Jade's help, I'd always thought it would be Aubrey. I didn't know what to do at this point, I wanted Aubrey but I was tired of this, of everything.
It had been a few days since the incident, luckily the only thing broken was Aubrey and I's relationship. Now, it was almost like he was scared to touch or look at me. Even though things were different, I was still his business partner and that meant doing things with him.
I was knocked from my thoughts by Aubrey poking me in the back. I looked down to see him signaling me to get him more champagne. We were at a meeting with the other pimps, discussing things. I slowly got up and got him something to drink.
"Thank you." He whispered when I came back. He looked in my eyes for a brief moment but quickly turned away. I turned back to the meeting and noticed Levi staring at me, giving me a smirk. I rolled my eyes and listen to 40 speak.
"All in agreement?" All the boys raised their hands. I had no idea what he was talking about, so I sat there quietly. "Riley?"
"Oh, uh sure." I looked down. Everyone in the room stared at me, they knew I wasn't usually this quiet and I'm sure they were wondering why my face was bruised.
"Alright.." 40 dragged out. "In that case, meeting closed." Stood up off the arm of Aubrey's chair and quickly made my way out. As soon as I got outside I realized someone was following me.
"Riley wait." Shay yelled. I sighed and turned around. "What's up with you?"
"Nothing." I mumbled.
"That big ass bruise on your face says otherwise." I didn't say anything, causing her to continue. "Tomorrow we're having lunch, I'll text you everything just be there."
"Fine." There was no use in arguing. I walked to the car and waited for Aubrey to come outside and unlock it. A few moments later he stepped outside and came to the car, I climbed in once he unlocked it. The car was silent as he backed out.
"You okay?" I saw him look at me from the corner of my eye, I only nodded. He looked back to the road. "Do you hate me?"
"No." Was all I said.
"It's okay to, you know?" He mumbled. "I'm a shitty person." I looked at him.
"You're right." I said. "You are a shitty person."
"Thanks."
"What Aubrey? It's the truth." I crossed my arms. "What do you want me to do lie? Tell you you're not? You know you are and so do I. You've hurt me too many time, physically and emotionally, for me to lie to you about that."
"I know you're right." He pulled into the driveway. "But you hurt me too. You act like you've never lied or played me." I sighed. "You've done it so many times but I haven't ever shown it. It hurts to see you do some of the things you do."
"Aubrey, it doesn't matter anymore." I opened the door. "We're past that and we're done." I climbed out of the car. "Besides Papi, I never loved you anyway." I slammed the door before he could say anything. He and I both knew that was a complete lie, I just hoped it would hurt him.

"Hey Ri." Shay smiled.
"I haven't talked to you in forever." I said sitting down. "What you been up to?"
"Nah, we're gonna figure out why you're face is bruised." Shay raised an eyebrow. "Was it him?" I nodded. "Riley damn it, why do you take that shit from him?"
"The same reason you take that shit from Ryan." I mumbled.
"Riley doesn't hit me in the face." Shay sighed. "I'm telling you this as your sister, you need to leave."
"Shay I can't, it's not that easy." I mumbled. "You know as well as me, he'd find me."
"I know." She put her head in her hands."I just don't like what he's become."
"You think I do?" I paused for a moment. "I just want Aubrey back." I felt tears burn my eyes but I quickly blinked them away.
"Riley, don't you dare cry on me." Shay gave me a small smile. "I want you to go in there and prove he needs you. He needs to know he needs you. I'm not talking about playing with him, show him you're strong and can do it yourself." I nodded.
"You're right, he doesn't realize it but he will." Shay nodded her head.

I walked into the completely silent house. I was a little creeped out cause it usually wasn't this quiet unless something happened. I walked into the living room to see all the girls sitting there.
"What's up?' I asked.
"He's in his office." Racquel mumbled. I furrowed my eyebrows and turned on my heel. I walked towards his office and opened the door. He sat with a knife on his desk. I instantly regretted coming over here. Was he gonna fucking kill me? I started to close the door when he turned and looked at me.
"Wait Riley." He said. I opened the door again. He didn't really look mad at me. I walked into the room some more and closed the door. "Really, is it you?"
"What?" I asked and walked in more.
"Come here and look at this." I walked over and read the knife.
Which weapon should I use?
"What is this?" I asked.
"I don't know. Riley, if it's you it's going too far." He looked up at me.
"I promise it's not." I told him. "Aubrey, who do you think is doing it?"
"I don't know Riley." He rested his head in his hands. "I don't know." I realized for the first time he was scared.
"Are you scared?" I whispered. He didn't answer for a moment.
"Yes." I barely heard him. "There's so many people that wanna kill me, I don't know who it is."
"Aubrey, it's okay to be afraid."
"I'm not just scared of dying." He looked at me. "I'm not trying to sound like a bitch, I'm scared you're really gonna be done with me one day and leave. I'm scared you're just gonna leave without me. Riley, this thing that's been happening the past three months needs to stop."
"What thing?"
"You changing." He sighed. "You're gonna wake up one day and leave me."
"I never said that."
"I know you didn't say it, you don't have to." He closed his eyes. "I just know it's gonna happen, you're gonna come to your senses." He paused for a moment. "Ri, just tell me what to do to make you stay."
"Aubrey..." I thought about it. "If you promise to leave all this shit behind somewhere within the near future, I'll stay."
"How long." He asked.
"One year."
"One year?" He looked up.
"One year." He nodded.
If one year came around and my ass wasn't sitting in the sand somewhere, I was done with Aubrey. For good.
