Chapter 1

"Smile!" The photographer said as she took a picture of me in my graduation uniform.

"Smile big baby girl!" My mother Wendy exclaimed.

"Mom....." I said embarrassed as other graduates walked by.

The picture was finally taken when the loud speaker came on. "All students report to the middle of the yard, it's time for the tradition of throwing your hats in the air, and then run to the after party!" It then shut off as everyone crowded to the middle of the court yard.

"Mom....I got to go...." I said as I waddled very slowly towards the middle.

"Okay....I'll pick you up around two..." She replied as she grabbed her car keys from her purse.

"Okay. Bye." I said sprinting to my best friend Bella.

All the students gathered to the middle of the yard as a song came on. Everyone laughed as everyone took off their hats and threw them up in the air. Colourful lanterns lit the sky as everyone partied to the rocking music. A lot of people yelled and a lot of people sat out during slow dancing including me. I don't have a boyfriend and neither does my best friend. Every time a guy asks me out it's either a dare or a joke. It's actually kind of funny how every time I turn them down and every time they fake cry. It's hilarious.

"Hey..." Bella said as she sat down beside me.

"Hey, you havin' fun?" I asked

"Eh....kinda I guess." She replied.

"What happened...?" I questioned.

"Nothing. I'm just getting kind of bored.." She answered as she fixed her dress.

"Oh, okay." I replied as we looked forward.

"Look at him..." She sighed as she leaned on her palm.

"Who?" I asked searching.

"Him you idiot!" She said pointing.

"Don't point! It will make it obvious!" I yelled pushing down here hand.

"Sorry..." She mumbled.

"Look he's coming this way!" She added.

"I thought you were dating Tony?" I asked.

"That doesn't mean I can't fantasize! Now sh! He's coming!" She exclaimed.

"Hey ladies.." He said.

"Hey Zach..." Bella said.

"What's up?" He asked.

"Nothin' much..." I replied.

"Cool." He nodded

"Want to dance?" He added.

"Sure!" Bella said excitedly.

"I wasn't talking to you...besides...your dating Tony." He said.

"Wait...you want to dance with me?" I questioned surprisedly.

"Yeah." He said holding out his hand.

I nodded as I grasped his hand. He soon led me to the middle of the dance floor as a slow song played. He pulled me close as we danced. "Wow...your a good dancer..." He said.

"No I'm not..." I laughed.

"I'm horrible at dancing and I'm pretty sure everyone knows that..." I laughed once again.

"Well...at least your pretty looks cover it..." He laughed as he pulled me even closer.

"Well...never heard a guy say that before..." I said as he twirled me and pulled me back.

"Is it obvious...?" He asked.

"Yeah..." I said

"Damn it," he said. "I'm trying to hide that I really like you but. Guess it didn't work." He laughed.

"Well...I like you to." I said shyly.

The next slow song came on and I lay my head on his shoulder. He did the same but lowered his hands to my butt. We dance so close that we randomly stopped. He placed his hand on my cheek but kept his other hand on my butt. He pulled me close and kissed me. It took at least twenty seconds before the kiss ended. We stared at each other straight in the eyes. His blue eyes meeting my blue eyes felt romantic. Even that kiss was romantic. "Well...my mom is here...I better go." He smiled as he pointed to the minivan that sat in the parking lot.

"Same..." I smiled back.

"Bye." He said.

"Bye..." I replied as he hopped in the minivan and drove away.

"You kissed him!" Bella said excitedly as she ran forward and hugged me.

"What?" I said giggling.

"You kissed him!" She laughed.

"Oh...yeah." I smiled.

"What's wrong?" Bella asked.

"I'm scared...what if it's a dare?" I replied holding my stomach as it started to ache.

"Don't be. If it is then. He's an asshole!" She laughed.

"Are you drunk?" I giggled as I lifted my brow.

"Indeed I am!" She laughed as she moved some of here purple hair behind her ear.

"If only Tony was here. I'm pretty sure he'd love you." I laughed.

"Sure! My husband would love me!" She giggled as she shook.

"Well I gotta go. Mom is here." I said as I headed to the car.

"Can't believe you didn't get drunk!" She laughed as she drank some more beer.

I finally reached the car and hopped in. "Hi." My mother said.

"Hi." I yawned.

"She's drunk?" She asked.

"Yup." I replied.

"Well..okay..." My mother said as she put her car into gear and drove away.
