Chapter Three

Is she going to wake up soon?

        Shut up, Cassius.

No, I'm serious. Is she your mate? She's human, though.

Shut up. I'm not kidding right now.

        Whatever you say, man.

        Cass!

        What?

        Shut. Up.

        Jesus. What's up your butt?

I'm going to kill you, Cass. I'm giong to just gently put my hands on your cheeks and look deeply into your eyes and violently jerk your neck at a right angle.

        That escalated quickly.

I listened to the two guys' conversation for a while, while they bickered, and I went over everything in my head.

My father runs a cult, check.

        Someone is after me, check.

I fell out of a tree, check.

Two random guys in the same room as me, also check.

I cracked an eye. The guys had left, leaving me alone in a room that was not my bedroom.

It was white, and the blankets were a white duvet with little purple flowers. The sheets were ivory, and there was a canopy over my head. The floors were a smooth brown hardwood, and they matched the trim. There were two windows on the wall, thrown open, with white gauzy curtains flowing in the cool breeze. It was humid, probably from the rain, and it was doing crazy things to my already unruly black locks.

I rubbed my eyes and looked around. I swung my legs over the side of the bed, and realized I was no longer wearing my "spy" outfit, but instead a white nightgown. I had a pink Ace wrap on my left ankle, and I had a couple bandages on my arms.

I put weight on my ankle, then let out a small scream of pain as red hot tendrils of agony shot up my leg.

Immediately, three buff men burst through the door. "Are you alright?" one of them asked. The others went and checked the windows and looked under all the furniture.

"I'm fine. I just stood up. My foot hurts like hell. Now, can someone tell me where I am? Who are you people?" I asked.

"Your at our Pack house. I'm sure your father will explain everything. Shall we escort you downstairs?" one guy asked.

"Um, sure. But who are you?"

"I am Darius. This is Jago, and Calix." Darius said, pointing to each man accordingly. "We are your guards. Come,"

I hobbled out of the room, following Darius.

The house I was in was beautiful. The hardwood was beautifully handscraped, and the walls were varying shades of blue. We were currently in a hallway that led to a gorgeous grand spiral staircase. I followed them down in, and into a huge room. There was a large rug in front of two large wooden doors. There was a grand piano in one corner. People milled about, occasionally stopping to whisper and point at me.

        "Wait here," Darius instructed me.

I stood still for a moment as he left the room. The other two guards hovered near me. I decided to limp over to the piano.
