Caroline and I stepped inside Dr. Maxfield's office and started going through his things in order to find something useful to help Elena. My blonde best friend sighed. "This is an impossible task!"

I grabbed a folder and saw a few numbers with Damon's description written in the white paper. It looked really old. "Just keep looking for the antidote. We really need to save Elena or else both my brothers will kick my ass." I snapped a few pictures of the documents to show Damon later.

Caroline gasped as soon as she opened a file from the cabinet. "Mia, check this out!" I approached my friend and read the file she was holding. "Maxfield used Nadia's infected blood to create a different kind of venom that can only be cured by a vaccine that he made."

My eyes widened in shock. "We need to find this damn vaccine before the venom spreads to Elena's heart."

"Looking for something in particular?" We heard a deep voice with an accent coming from behind us. We looked at the man and it was Enzo, the psycho vampire who nearly killed me and Damon.

I glared at him. "What are you doing here? Damon killed your master so you have no motive to stalk us."

Enzo grinned. "Damon told me you were feisty." He looked at Caroline and smirked. "He also told me you have a thing for accents."

Caroline rolled her eyes. "That was a one time thing!" She opened another cabinet file. "Are you here for something?" She was clearly annoyed and it was amusing to me.

He looked at us. "I might be able to help you both." We looked at him skeptically. "I have the solution to Damon's girlfriend's problem. That is why you're here, am I right?"

I stepped closer to him and looked him dead in the eyes. "I don't trust you and honestly, have no idea why Damon is friends with you." I glanced at Caroline, who was nodding at my statement. "But I'm desperate. If you try to be a smartass, I will kill you."

Enzo put his arms up, mocking me. "Make sure to take Stefan Salvatore to the location I will provide you via text." He left and Caroline looked at me in confusion.

"Who says 'via text'?" She asked and I laughed. I can't trust Enzo but he worked with Maxfield so he must know something about this vaccine.

Caroline started pacing around and Enzo was sitting with a smug look on his face. "Did you text Stefan?" She asked me.

I rolled my eyes and pulled out my phone to show her the text. "For the tenth time, I texted Stefan. He should be here any minute now."

Suddenly, Stefan showed up and looked at me with concern in his eyes. "Your text was cryptic! What's wrong?"

"You have arrived!" Enzo approached us with a grin on his face and then looked behind us. "Please, welcome our guests."

We turned around and saw those annoying Travelers, including Sloan, surrounding us. "What's going on?" I asked while holding onto my brother's arm. "You tricked us!" I glared at Enzo and he just shrugged.

Sloan looked deeply into my brother's eyes. "Stefan Salvatore, you're a doppelganger. You might not understand the importance you and Elena Gilbert have in this world. We need the both of you alive which is why we'll giving you the antidote to save her." He handed my brother a small vial containing the antidote.

Stefan looked at the antidote and then glared at Sloan. "What do you want in return?"

"I may need your help in the future." Sloan chuckled. "And you will do it willingly." He turned around and Enzo followed him.

I looked at my brother. "Are you okay?" He nodded. "What's the matter with those Travelers? It's like they're obsessed with you and Elena."

Stefan walked away and then turned to me. "Aren't you coming? We need to give to this to Elena." I nodded and followed him, along with Caroline. Something was strange, it was like my brother knew more than he was telling.

I arrived home and saw Elena standing beside the couch. "Elena!" I ran to her and hugged her tight, happy tears running down my eyes. "I missed you so much! You should have been here when Stefan killed Katherine. It was epic!" I looked into her eyes and she seemed sad. "What's wrong?"

Elena looked at me with her brown eyes and then smiled faintly. "It's weird to be back. I read what Katherine wrote in my journal and I got angry because you all took your sweet time to realize she was impersonating me."

"I was the only one who actually thought something was up." I said while crossing my arms, proud of my intuition. "You would never dump Damon!"

Damon was standing up behind me and then cleared his throat. "Actually, Mia, I think you should join Jeremy upstairs and let Elena and I discuss some issues." I nodded and walked upstairs.

My bedroom door was ajar and I entered the room, noticing Jeremy listening to music while laying on the red couch. "Jer!" I shouted but he didn't listen. My hands reached for his headphones and yanked them from his head. "Hey, you!" I chuckled.

He smiled and then gave me a quick kiss. "Hey! I heard you had quite an adventure today." He patted the seat beside him and I sat next to my boyfriend.

I sighed and fell into his arms while he ran his fingers through my red hair. "Enzo was an ass, we got the antidote and I realized how much Damon was tortured by that secret society."

Jeremy looked at me and furrowed his eyebrows. "Do you think they're going to be okay?" He was talking about my brother and his sister.

"There's always one way to find out." I sat on the couch while listening to their conversation. Elena's little speech made my heart break, while Damon's attempt to do the right thing made me cry. My brother was a great guy and I feel so proud.

"What's going on?" Jeremy asked impatiently.

I looked at my boyfriend with tears in my eyes and then I leaned on his chest. "They broke up. Damon told Elena that they were toxic for each other and that it would be better if they weren't together."

Jeremy hugged me tight and pressed his lips on my head, making me feel secure and loved. Damon and Elena have been through so much but it seemed like their story didn't stand the test of time and death.
