Mia's POV: "MIA..You're gonna miss your flight if you don't hurry up!" I heard my mother say from the downstairs kitchen. Today is the day Breland and I go to California to live with our cousins for a few months. I cannot wait because it means I won't have to see my mother for a while. Our mom abuses us and she is also an alcoholic. Breland was her favorite out of both of us. I was the one mom didn't like and she took all her anger out on me. Breland and I were really close until she found a friend she would spend most nights with and leave me home alone with our mom. She was also happy we were moving to Cali. "Mia, common. Get up and get ready. Our flight is in an hour." Breland says from the bathroom in our room. I immediately shot up out of bed and got dressed. I packed up all my things the night before so all I have to do is get ready.
Once I am dressed I grab my 3 bags and go down to my car. I say bye to my mom and our dog skip. Once I walk out the door I put all my things in my car and drive to the airport with my sister. "Okay, we have 30 minutes to get there and we are 10 minutes away." She says. When we get to the airport we arrive 20 minutes early and get something to eat. I hate food that they offer on planes so I ate before. When we get on the airplane I go to my seat and put my headphones in and listen to music. LA, Here I come..
We land in California and I get my bags. I meet up with Breland and we look for Logan and Jake. It was easy finding them cause Logan was almost the tallest one standing in the crowd by the door. "LOGAN!!" I exclaim. I run up to him and he hugs me immediately. "I missed you so much!" He says. "I missed you too" I say. Breland meets up with Jake and we all go to Logan's house. "Bro, your house is so much bigger in person!" I exclaim. "Yeah. Welcome to the Maverick house!" He says walking into the front door. Jake and Breland left to go to go to the Team 10 house. I settle into the room I am staying in and go back downstairs to greet Logan. I meet Spencer, Logan's roommate and videographer. And Evan, Logan's roommate who is a dwarf. We all get to know each other and eat dinner. I eventually meet Lydia and Mike, Lydia, who is Logan's assistant and Mike, Logan's friend. Logan shows me around the house and we chill in the game room for the rest of the night. The game room was pretty cool. It was a orange room that had a huge tv in the wall, computers in front of that and a little wall of plates. One of the walls had a mural of Logan flying with Maverick and two bean bag chairs in front of it. I sat in the chairs and watched Logan suck at playing Fortnite. "You suck Logan" I laugh. "Well I don't see you over here being the best either." He says with a smirk. "Wanna try me?" I reply. "Let's see what you got." He says getting up out of his chair and telling me to play. I placed number 45 in solo. "Damn Mia, you suck too." Logan laughs. I flick him off and go into the living room to play with Kong.
My phone buzzes and I get a text from Breland.
Breland: I am loving it here!
Me: I'm glad to hear that. Logan's place is awesome. How is Team 10 treatin' you lol
Breland: Basically like their little sister. We should meet up tomorrow. Starbucks sound good?
Me: Yeah. See you then
I put my phone down and go up to my room. I unpack my suitcases and change into my night clothes. Then go back down to the living room to get my phone. "Hey Mia, Tomorrow people are coming over and I think you are going to like them." Logan says from the kitchen. I nod and go up to my room. I lay in my bed and go on social media's.
