It's been nearly a year since the Cell games and Goku's death. Everyone missed the warrior, but had recovered from the grief they experienced. All except one proud saiyan prince. Vegeta was currently at Goku's house, cleaning up his disaster he called a room. He was told to find anything sentimental or important to him. Vegeta had been cleaning and found Goku's old gi. The one he wore when they first fought. The prince brought it out and sat down. He felt something wrapped on the inside of the folded gi, unraveling the clothing, a cassette player and a cassette tape fell out. It had terrible writing on it- 'Goku's handwriting' Vegeta thought. He folded the gi again and set it down. He reached for the player and placed the tape in. After pressing "play" the cassette started. The music- he's heard it before. It was the first time he and the young man had got together. Goku had brought Vegeta to a grassy hill, a beautiful sight at the top, and had laid out a picnic. The cassette was there, playing music. Vegeta felt something wet slide down his cheek, and with a shaky hand, wiped the tear away. "K-Kakarot..." The prince had let the tears fall, he cried and sniffled. He loved that memory. He loved the way Goku smiled that day- so happy and innocent. The same one as the day he sacrificed himself. Vegeta was shaking and held the gi close now. "W-Why did you leave me, Kakarot!? You promised that you wouldn't go anywhere!!" He sobbed into his rival's training attire. "Why-?!" "Vegeta? Why are you crying?" A familiar voice spoke. Vegeta looked up and... There he was, the saiyan he absolutely came to hate and despise, yet love and adore, standing before him. "Don't cry anymore, Vegeta." Goku gave him a smile, the one he had fallen in love with. The tall brunet held out his hand to the small prince. Vegeta looked at Goku's hand, then him. He immediately took it and Goku pulled him up into a warm hug. "No more crying, love." Goku rubbed his back. Vegeta nuzzled his chest and looked up, "Kakarot...? I thought you-" "Remember that one day, where I took you to that hill? This music played and you told me, 'don't let go?'" Vegeta nodded slowly, "Yes... but-" "I want you to do the same. Don't be sad, don't let go of the memory of me. One day we'll meet again." Goku smiled and kissed Vegeta's forehead, causing the prince to close his eyes. When he opened them again, he had seen what he feared the most... Goku was gone.
