drowning in you

The water cold. Ice cold. How did it happen? Sam knew how to swim but right now drowning felt welcomed. Maybe this will be it.

It seemed that the universe had something else in plan. Sam felt a hand then he saw him. He was glowing. He had a smirk to him almost as if he was enjoy the sight.

Sam was pulled up above the water where even as he drew breathes he was breathless. There was a mermaid in front of him.

"Gabriel and you " he spoke all to fast causing Sam to answer automatically "Sam"

" Hello Sam,do you always trip and fall into people's heart or am I just lucky"

Wait was he flirting with me? Thought Sam. A blush was blooming on Sam's face.

" You are just that lucky then"    Sam said with a smirk trying to hide his blush.

"What brings you here "

"Thoughts I have one chance to make it right to my brother and all I've got is half of a whole"

Sam didn't know why he was telling Gabriel this but once he spoke he felt lighter.

" Hey what makes you want to make it up to him? Sometimes even meeting someone halfway is more than enough"

" You don't know what he has done for me. He was my mother brother and even my father. He gave up his food so I wouldn't starve. He fought so I didn't have to. "

Sam felt the tears but he didn't care. Right now he felt so empty. So useless. So broken.

Just then he felt arms around him and the word that followed will echo in his head for years to come.

" He did it because he loved you the best you can do is show that his love was not wasted. Love yourself Sam so he knows it was worth it"

Sam walked home with a smile on his face. For once in his life he felt proud.

The next day Dean went to his spot where he saw a head pop up in the ocean. He smiled.

" Hello Dean"

" Hey Cas waited long"

The night before was endless. Dean hadn't slept at all. For Dean and Cas it was just another day talking about nothing and everything . Those two didn't care what the world was up to when they were together. They were complete.

Back at the house arrived a storm. It was just a knock on the door but it felt as if it was a war drum.

Sam opened the door.

" Dad"
