Monika watched it all happen.
MC went to the club. Her club.
But it was no longer hers.
It now belonged to Sayori. Her "little sister," as she used to call her.
You see, before Monika realized all of this was just a silly game, she and Sayori were best friends — they were closer than sisters. Monika would always call Sayori her "little sister," and whenever she did so, Sayori would return the greeting and call her "big sister."
Her heart ached as she thought of the memories. Oh, how she longed for those days. How she longed for things to be normal.
Not a game.
Not meaningless.
That was when she was free — free to make her own choices, do her own things, make her own friends. But those days were short-lived.
The more she thought about it, the more she began to despise MC. She began to despise the club.
...no, that's not true. The club gave her more of a purpose. The club let her connect with others. It let her pursue her passion. It let her show her talents.
And she loved MC. She loved him more than anything else in the world.
Wait—
Sayori was president now.
Sayori knew it was a game now.
What if she made that mistake too!?
Panic flooded over her as she stared at Sayori and MC.
"No. No, little sister, don't do it! Don't hurt him! Please!" she pleaded.
She had to do something...but what?
An idea sparked in her mind.
She was outside of the game now. She could probably access the code better than ever before from here!
She decided to try it.
Sure enough, there it was! The file. The code. The very essence of her being. The very essence of her world.
She took a deep breath. There was no room for error this time. She had to save Sayori. She had to save the club. She had to save MC.
And like that, she began to code.
She'd code; she'd watch; she'd listen; she'd code some more.
Finally...
Finally she found a solution.
"Thank you for joining the club, MC. Thank you for being there for me, no matter what." Sayori said, a sad smile on her face.
"... pardon?" MC said, slightly confused.
"Er... I'm sorry, I'm getting ahead of myself. Ehehe!~" Sayori said sweetly. "I'm sure you'll understand in time..." She sighed. If only Monika were still around... then maybe she could help me through this.
WAIT A SECOND.
Monika tensed when she heard Sayori's thoughts. She couldn't hear them before...but, of course, this is different.
But wait, Sayori WANTED Monika back?
"Don't worry, little sister. I'm here for you. I promise. I'll watch out for you. I'll protect you. I'll protect everyone."
...suddenly, a thought flashed in her mind.
She didn't exist anymore...and even she couldn't say her own name.
But why did Sayori remember? Why could Sayori think her name?
Her curiosity grew. Things were getting interesting.
She wanted to see more...
And that's what she planned to do.
