[xiv] (lack of) trust

"i'm telling you, 'guk, there's something wrong with all this."

yongguk walked faster, ignoring kenta's words as he did so. "kim yongguk, i'm being serious! are you- come on, listen! his aura, his personality, his fucking eyes... everything's off, and every part of me is screaming, 'no! this isn't right, save yongguk!' i don't-"

"look, could you just lay off?" yongguk stopped and snapped, turning around angrily to face the boy. "just... just s-stop! i don't want to hear it! be glad i even showed him to you-"

"i found him myself, when you were trying to hide him."

"shut up and let me finish!" yongguk's face went red from fury. "i don't- i don't care what you have to say. so what if i'm making a big mistake? i know it's crazy, having a relationship with a dead person, a ghost, b-but i... i love him, and if you can't accept that then get lost!"

kenta stopped, scoffing. "fine. fine! run off like that! don't listen to my words, don't ever listen to me at all!"

yongguk rolled his eyes, running into the university campus eagerly to avoid kenta.

he slid through the hallways and stopped in the middle of the seniors' corridor to make sure he'd lost the boy, making him huff a sigh of relief.

"lost?" a voice called out, making yongguk look up and blush. "o-oh! you're that senior from before..."

"kwon hyunbin," he nodded gently, grinning. "and you are kim... yonggun, if i'm not wrong?"

"yongguk," he corrected as hyunbin chuckled. "ah, sorry. i'm bad with names."

"it's fine," he waved it off hurriedly, blushing gently. "do you, uh, have a lecture today?"

"just finished," hyunbin spoke earnestly, before clicking. "ah, i was just about to go get something to eat. i don't really feel like going alone... do you want to come with me?"

"h-huh?" yongguk stuttered, the words 'lunch date' floating around in his head. "uh... i-i have a lecture-"

"you can skip, trust me," hyunbin winked, making yongguk hold his breath.

"ah... why the hell not?"

hyunbin laughed, taking yongguk's hand hurriedly. "come, let's go."

they ran through the hallways carelessly, yongguk ignoring all the bells ringing in his head at that point.
