We had done all but five, and it led to the most magical day of my life. All that’s left is; Dance In The Rain, send a message in a bottle, carve our names in a tree, say yes to everything for a day and make a wish on a star.

“We’re going to do all six of them today.” Lou announced barging into the lounge, closing his black umbrella out on the front porch.

“Let’s start now, why yes of course we shall!” I laughed grabbing my coat before following Lou outside.

“Number one, dance in the rain!” He pulled me out into the rain and danced with me, my right hand in his left, his right hand on my waist, he spun me around only to catch me almost falling into a nearby puddle, his hair was getting soaked, and he still managed to look cute, I could only imagine what I look like. He hummed along to some song that was stuck in his head, and I just couldn’t help but laugh.

He grabbed my hand and we walked to the park around the corner from my house and we found a nearby tree and he grabbed a rock and started carving L.T + S.S into the tree, all I had to do was hold the umbrella up. I watched the rain fall down into the nearby puddles, leaving ripples after each. Listening to the rain hitting the ground and the leaves of the trees. But apart from that it was dead silent. No one really comes out in this crappy weather. I looked back at the tree and Lou had drawn a heart around our initials.

“Why the heart?”

“I love you, you’re my best friend!” Lou laughed at me like it wasn’t obvious. He just doesn’t know that I really like him and watching him do stuff like this just makes me fall deeper. Lou drove us to the beach and brought along an empty beer bottle and paper, and before leaving the car we wrote something on there. I wrote;

You’re beautiful, even if you don’t think you are, believe in your dreams, and don’t let anyone tell you you’re worthless.

Lou wrote something after me but wouldn’t let me read, it was probably some stupid comment. He put the lid on the bottle and we walked out on the jetty and dropped it into the water. The ocean breeze got my hair caught in my eyelashes, and the salt smell was filling my nose, and the calming sound of the ocean waves filled my ears, I loved the beach, I would move to Australia or something if I could.

Lou turned to me and smiled at me, his hair was all wet and curly, and his clothes were just as saturated. “Wanna know what I wrote in that bottle?”

“Yes.” I answered as part of the bucket list, I couldn’t care less which joke he put in this time.

“I wrote this not long before asking the girl I love to be my girlfriend.”

“Oh and who’s that?” I joked, I knew it was some joke or some random chick he met this week.

“You. Will you be my girlfriend Sydney?” I know I have to say yes as part of the bucket list, but to be honest I would have said yes anyway.

“Is this some sort of joke?”

“I wouldn’t joke about this.”

“Yes.”

“Are you just saying that because you have to?”

“I’m saying it because I love you too.” Lou grabbed me by the waist and pulled me into a kiss, here it was, that passionate kiss in the rain that all girls want. His warm hand intertwined it’s fingers with mine, and pulled his arm over my shoulder so I was pretty much hugging myself. He kissed me on the side of my forehead and held my hand on the drive home, singing along to some random songs like usual. Getting home, he apologised that he couldn’t stay because his mum wanted him back home, but he kissed me before leaving, I can’t believe this is happening, was all that was going through my mind.

“Are you and Lou finally a couple?” Mum laughed looking in from the kitchen.

“I guess you could say that.” I couldn’t wipe the grin from my face.
