Chapter Thirty-two: What a Miracle
It’s Audrie’s 5th birthday! So she’s super excited, Lou and I creep up to her door, and open it silently, Lou holding my hand ready to surprise our beautiful girl. She looks like an angel when she sleeps, her hair in two braids on either side. Lou gives me the cheekiest smile before handing me the camera and climbing onto the end of the bed, and jumping on her mattress (She’s too short for her feet to be there of course) screaming “Happy birthday! Happy Birthday!” Until she got up and gave him a massive hug, before turning to me and giving me a hug as well.
“Come down stairs and see your presents beautiful!” I smiled, grabbing her hand to walk her down stairs, with Lou recording us from behind to get every second of our beautiful girl’s fifth birthday. When we got the point where we could see the presents she sprinted down the stairs to stand next to a massive pile of presents. She slowly opened them one by one and got;
· A Louis doll – She gets one every year.
· The newest play station
· Sing star – all the games and microphones
· A new quilt
· A Cinderella dress for her dress up birthday party tonight
· An apron and chef’s hat
· A new doll’s house with a pool and everything
· A big poster of One Direction (She loves them)
· One direction tour video (She loves watching her daddy perform)
· A whole range of toys that she wanted.
She’s pretty spoiled but she’s such a sweet kid, she doesn’t take any of it for granted, she has invited her whole year level over, thank god we have a massive back yard, and we’re going to have a jumpy castle and Cinderella is going to be there, and they’re going to play pass the parcel, pin the tail on the “Noble steed”, piñata, face painting, the kids are seriously never going to get bored. The band is performing, and Niall is in charge of the food, again, he’s ordered heaps of party pies, pasties, sausage rolls, mini pizzas, hot chips, you name a party food, we probably have it.
She got dressed in her little uniform, it was a cute little blue school dress with white stripes and black stockings with black shoes, actually the uniform was ugly as crap, but she looked adorable in it all the same. She smiled for the camera and did a few spins for Louis before sitting down to eat her breakfast of bacon and eggs while Louis attempted to do her hair, which I had to take over if we wanted her to ever have friends again. She quickly brushed her teeth before Lou and her got in the car to take her to school.
I went to go clean up her plate and the smell of the bacon made me feel like I was going to throw up, so I quickly dumped it in the sink before running towards the closest bathroom. Must have been a dodgy piece of bacon I ate this morning or something. I continued cleaning the house, washing everything down before Lou got home to help me set up for the party. We put up streamers and banners and made the pass the parcel, set up the castle stuffed with lollies, and the pin the tail on the noble steed, the Jumping castle man came and set that up for us, it was a massive castle which was super awesome. I set out all the plates which had castles and everything on them, with crowns and tiaras for party hats.
You know those party bags you got when you were kids, and they were almost usually gay? You know, apart from the Wizz-Fizz. In her party bags were;
· A Wizz-Fizz
· 2 star burst lolly pops
· A couple of star burst snakes
· A packet of Neon Worms
· Two Fredo frogs
· Either wand or a sword
· Skittles
The kids will have so much sugar, they probably won’t sleep for a week, but there’s only one of Audrie’s birthdays in a year so we’re going to make it count. When Audrie finally got home, we made cupcakes, and she was the head chef with her little hat and apron. We made little pink cupcakes with pink icing and little stars over them. All the boys arrived and started jumping up and down on the bouncy castle, leaving us girls to cook the hundreds of little pies and pasties. Elijah was in his cute pirates costume, and I went upstairs with Audrie to get her into her Cinderella costume, putting her hair into a bun, making her look exactly like her.
She walked downstairs looking beautiful as ever, all the boys were forced to sit along the couch at the bottom of the stairs, ready to see the beautiful princess with her little birthday tiara, so she felt like a real princess. All the boys looked pleased with her little outfit, handing her, her presents which she pretty much ripped open, they all had gotten her one of their dolls and a Pandora charm for her necklace we bought her when she turned four, so that she would always have a piece of the boys when they went on tour. Last year they all bought her a charm to remind her of them, like a shamrock for Niall, a carrot for Louis, a cat for Harry, a spoon for Liam and a mirror for Zayn, this year they bought her each a charm representing trust, honour, friendship and loyalty, Louis got her one with I love you on it.
Soon all her guests arrived, and there was about 100 kids running around our back yard eating all our food and playing the games, they were all in groups of 20ish, and the groups were conducted by the boys, who looked after their own set of kids. They all got along with their kids so well, playing games with them and giving them high fives, I’m pretty sure this is the best birthday a girl could ask for. On the invitations, Audrie wanted me to write a little note saying : I don’t want any presents for me, just bring something to donate to the homeless and needy and we’ll donate it to charity. I don’t know how many kids could do that. So there was a massive pile of boxes of clothes, band aids, medicines, toys, books, pencils, you name it, it was there. I told you Audrie was a sweet kid.
When everyone left, Audrie just collapsed on her bed, and fell asleep she was so exhausted, which was nice, because I was tired too, and I think I’m going to need a cleaners help for this mess. Lou and I just collapsed onto the couch and cuddled up next to the fire, talking about nothing in particular, when I remembered throwing up this morning.
“I threw up this morning, probably bad bacon. Was Audrie okay?” I asked tracing the back of Lou’s hand with my finger.
“Yeah, she was fine, why did you throw up?” He asked, confused.
“The bacon smelled funny that’s all” I shrugged it off.
“You never throw up because something smells funny.” He pointed out, brushing his fingers through my hair. “The last time you did that was when you were pregnant with Audrie.”
“The last time I was pregnant with Audrie….” I wondered, calculating the dates. It’s been a week since I was due. “It’s been a week….” I mumbled.
“You don’t think?” He sat up, and I turned towards him.
“I’m pregnant.” We rushed upstairs to get the spare pregnancy test, what if I was pregnant again? Truly a miracle child.
“I hope it’s a boy!” Lou had the biggest smile on his face, I knew he always wanted a little boy and girl, but he was happy with our beautiful Audrie.
“Don’t get too excited, I could be wrong. On the count of three?” I asked, holding his hand tight, and holding the test in the other hand.
“One…” Lou said, kissing me on the left cheek. “Two….” He kissed the other.
“Three!” I flipped the test over, to see the positive sign.
“You’re pregnant…” Lou mumbled. “You’re pregnant!” Lou cheered, picking me up and giving me a massive kiss.
“The honeymoon!” I laughed, I can’t believe I was pregnant again! What a miracle.
