Sayori's alarm went off, making her wake up with a yawn, stretching.  She was relieved to not find any rainclouds waiting for her.

Monika perked up. "Ohayou, little sister!"

"... ohayou."

Sayori turned off the alarm and quickly changed into her uniform, skipping down the stairs to the kitchen.

"So, what's for breakfast?" Monika asked curiously.

"... toast.  Eggs and toast." Sayori said simply, though slightly confused on who she was talking to.

Monika giggled.  "Should've known.  That IS your favorite breakfast."

Sayori smiled softly to herself, feeling oddly comforted.

She prepared and ate her breakfast in almost record time before putting the dishes away and rushing out the door, greeted by the sight of MC already on his way.

"MC! MC!"

He turned to see her running over to him, waving her arms in the air. He managed a small smile.

"Ohayou, Sayori."

"Ohayou!"

"Did you sleep well?"

"Mhm! You?"

"...er, I guess so."

Both girls paused for a moment.

"... is he okay?" Monika whispered to herself.

"What do you mean?" Sayori asked.

MC just shrugged it off. "Eh, not important..."

Sayori gave him a concerned look, but decided not to question. It must be personal.

"If you say so."

The two of them walked to school in silence. Monika followed, feeling a bit bored.

"Well, what am I supposed to do? I don't wanna have to go to school. But I have to keep an eye on Sayori, and there's nothing else to do..."

Suddenly, an idea sparked in her mind. The piano! Even if she couldn't play it, maybe she could at least see it again.

Her heart fluttered with joy as she rushed to the piano room and sat on the bench as if she were about to play.

This was one thing she missed: her music.

She gracefully allowed her fingers to dance across the keys, though no sound came out. That saddened her, but she continued to pretend to play anyway. It was then she realized she never got the chance to play her song for her friends.

Her heart sank again. She was looking forward to that.

"I never even got to finish writing it." She sighed. "And now it's gone, and so am I."

Her hands fell from the keys to her sides and she closed her eyes, her head down. Tears streamed down her face and onto the floor, glitching away as they splashed.

She wasn't sure how long she sat there and just cried, but before she knew it, the bell to dismiss school rang, snapping her out of her sad trance.

She needed to get to the club to keep an eye on the others!

She immediately rushed out, quickly going to her clubroom.

It brought back so many bittersweet memories.

She saw Yuri and Natsuki reading together in the corner, for once. It was nice seeing them get along... it definitely beat hear them arguing.

She sighed as she remembered the horrible arguments they often had. She didn't like them, but she was the one that caused some of them, too. "How hypocritical of me."

She was snapped out of her thoughts, however, by the sound of Sayori and MC coming in.

"We're here!~" she sang.

The two other girls looked over.

"Hey, Sayori. MC." Natsuki greeted.

"Hey girls." MC muttered.

This is when Monika glared and forced herself to look away. She didn't like seeing MC with the other girls. It made her angry and jealous again.

She forced herself to zone out and ignore the four of them. She didn't have time to worry about not being with MC. If she focused on that, who knows what she'll do?

She found her mind drifting back to her song. She sang the first verse in her head:

Every day, I imagine a future where I can be with you.
In my hand is a pen that'll write a poem of me and you.
The ink flows down into a dark puddle.
Just move your hand; write the way into his heart!
But in this world of infinite choices,
What will it take just to find that special day?
What will it take just to find that special day?

She sighed. "That special day" would never happen now — now she couldn't be with anyone. She couldn't write her way into anyone's heart.

She longingly stared at MC again. If only he knew. If only he knew how much she loved him.

How much she needed him.

How much she knew she'd never have him.
