Carrie's POV:

My bewilderment quickly turned to happiness.

"Ethan!" I shouted, giving my brother a hug.

I hadn't seen him in almost three months. Ethan hugged me back and ruffled my hair like he has done since we were little.

"Hey, Care Bear," he laughed. "How's your injuries?"

"Better actually. How'd you know about that?" I asked him. I know I hadn't told him or dad.

"Mom," Ethan answered.

I nodded, understanding.

Ethan looked to my right in confusion, and I realized I had totally forgotten to introduce Niall to him, and vise versa.

"Ethan, this is my boyfriend, Niall. Niall, this is my brother, Ethan."

I looked over to Niall, who seemed extremely relieved. The pictures I had showed him of Ethan were taken years and years ago, so he probably didn't recognize him. He must've been confused seeing me hug some older guy right in front of him.

"Nice to meet you, Niall," Ethan smiled and shook Niall's hand. His southern accent was much more prominent than mine since I have lived in Rhode Island over half of my life, and he had moved back to Georgia.

"Glad to meet you, too," Niall grinned.

"So you're... British or Irish?"

"Irish."

They carried on conversation, and I couldn't help but smile. It was a really great feeling to see my boyfriend and my brother joke around and have conversation with each other. Ethan had never liked Daniel, but he seems to get along with Niall pretty good.

"So what are you doing here? Why didn't you call?" I asked him.

"What? I can't come to see my only sister without any reason what so ever?" He said sarcastically.

I raised my eyebrows. "Alright fine. Mom told me you were moving to England for college. I wanted to come say goodbye."

"Aw. Well I'm not leaving for a couple weeks. You didn't have to come up here so early."

"I know, but I'm in college now, and this was my only free week." He said quickly.

I was somewhat shocked. "You're in college now? I thought you said college wasn't your thing?"

"Yeah I did say that, but I want to be a math teacher, and college is the only way to do it."

Now my jaw was practically on the floor. "A math teacher? I thought you had always hated school."

"Well, I have come to realize that teaching is something I really wanna do. One of my favorite teachers back in high school ran into me the other day. We had a lengthy conversation about my future, a lot of things were said, and he kind of opened my eyes. So, yeah.." Ethan shrugged and looked slightly embarrassed.

"That's great! I'm happy for you," I told him, patting his shoulder.

Niall nodded in agreement and gave his genuine smile.

"Well... Enough with the mushy stuff. Let's eat breakfast and then we'll go hang out in town or something," Ethan said.

"Actually, Niall is leaving to go back to London today. He leaves for the airport in three hours," I told him, trying not to sound too down about it.

"Why?"

"He's a member of a band called One Direction. Kayli and I are going there in a week because we won front row tickets to one of their shows. That's how I met him," I smiled.
