In the little town of Algoma, Michigan lived 5 very different teenagers.

Grace who was considered the biggest loser at her school was asleep in her bed.

O-O¬ Grace O-O¬

I woke up to my mom singing “Happy Birthday” to me.

“Thank you.” I smiled at her and blew out the candles on the cake she was holding.

“Look its my baby girl.” I could hear my dad say as he walked in the room. I put on my glasses as I saw the blurry figure carrying a little package. I smiled at him as he put the box in my hands. I sat up and opened it and saw a dusty old textbook.

“A textbook.” I laughed as I blew the dust off the book. I saw my parents look at eachother and then smiled to look at me.

“There are a lot of things in here that’ll help you.” My mom patted the book and I read it.

“The Prophecy will help me in the future?” I asked. She just shook her head.

“Just read it.” I nodded.

“No go! I need to get ready for school.” I said, shooing them out of my room. I closed the door and blew a strand of hair out of my face. Another day of torture.

I combed my hair and fixed my clothes again and looked in the mirror. Ugh! Its a mess. I quickly threw the book inside my backpack and rushed outside as the bus pulled up.

“Bye!” I shouted to my parents as I walked out the door.

I walked into school as the “Sinister Triplets” made their grand entrance. Savannah, Sabrina, and Samantha threw their hair back in unison and waved at anybody who would look-which basically means everyone. In the corner stood Belle Clark with her usual smile, handing out her student council flyers.

“Vote for me for student council!” Belle handed a flyer to Savannah. Savannah put on a elastic smile and then crumbled the flyer and threw it over her shoulder as her and the wanna-be’s proceeded through the hallway.

At lunch, I looked around and saw no tables available but one all the way in the corner.

“S’cuse me? Is anyone sitting here?” I looked up at the face of a boy with light brown hair and hazel eyes.

“Uh, no. You can sit.” I awkwardly pointed to the seat across from me.

“Thanks. I’m Luke by the way. Luke Smith.”

“Grace Garcia, nice to meet you.” I smiled at him.
