Chapter 6 : Here to stay

Taylor walked up the stairs angrily. "Tay- Taylor wait..." karlie called after her softly with tears in her eyes "come back- come back... I need you" Taylor quickly turned back to her girlfriend and helped her out of her coat and quickly wiped her phone down with a tissue.

Taylor kneeled in front of karlie and took her socks off and lead her to the sofa and sat her down then quickly threw some cleaner over the paint on the carpet then sat beside her girlfriend. Taylor slowly wrapped her arms around karlie hushing her and muttering comforting words to her girlfriend.

Karlie lay her head on Taylor's chest. "I'm sorry...." karlie said quietly. "What for?" Taylor said between heavy breaths. Karlie could feel Taylor's fast heart beat through Her shirt, "she ... she hates me..." karlie sobbed. "No no... baby she doesn't hate you... she-she- she's just testing the boundaries" Taylor explained kissing her girlfriends head softly.

"Testing the boundaries.... why?- why would she do that?" Karlie asked slowly blinking trying to focus on the answer. "To see what she can get away with..... because she knows your here to stay.... she might just think.... that.... if she can do this now and get away with it whenever.." Taylor sighed "I don't know why she did it."  Taylor rambled on and looked at karlie who was taking in the words.

"I don't want her to be bad.... I want to know the Riley you know.... and I want her to love me like she loves you..." Taylor looked at karlie sadly. "She will .... she just has to learn that you are here to stay" Taylor said softy.

The pair stayed cuddling on the sofa just listening to the tv on in the background until karlie finally found her voice again "what.... what are we gonna do?" Karlie squeaked out then looked at Taylor who sighed "I'll talk to her.... I'll deal with her later"

Karlie looked up at Taylor "s...should... should I?".... "should I 'deal' with her?" Taylor was shocked "what?" Taylor looked at her girlfriend, "what if I... spoke to her? And.... found out why she did it? I mean obviously I wouldn't punish her... that's not my place" Karlie sat up to face Taylor, "she obviously has something against me, maybe it's best if I'm the one who speaks to her?" Taylor nodded. "if your comfortable with that, you have my permission, you are the second guardian on the forms baby, so it is your place" with that Taylor kissed the top of karlie's head.

They lay in each other's arms for a while longer, "I think it's too late for Cooking, I think I'll order pizza" Taylor whispered to her girlfriend. Karlie nodded then stood up "okay... I'm gonna find the menace and speak to her, I won't go hard on her I-" Taylor cut her off "Kar I trust you, your my ray of sunshine" that caused the model to blush and push Taylor gently, "Cheddar" karlie smirked. "I'll be cheesy till the day I die" Taylor smirked, "Hey... when your done how does pizza and a movie sound?" Taylor asked and Karlie smiled "the three of us?" Taylor nodded "yes, the three of us"

Karlie walked upstairs, she had always loved Taylor's house, it smelled like vanilla and cookies and it was always so clean and perfect. Karlie looked at all the doorways, where could Riley be? The blonde decided to check her room, as karlie walked inside she couldn't help but look around. Karlie lifted up a blanket from the floor and placed it onto the bed then turned her attention to some toys on the floor and kneeled to pick them up "Gotcha! Come on, out from under the bed" karlie arched her eyebrow at Riley unimpressed with her hiding place.

"No." Riley's reply was blunt and it annoyed karlie slightly. "Fine, I can just get Taylor up here and she will-" before she could finish her empty threat Riley slipped out from under the bed and was almost face to face with karlie.

That was when Riley regretted everything. Although karlie was gentle, kind and loving when she was annoyed you felt it. "So... lets talk. First of all your in huge trouble, why would you do that to me? I haven't done anything to you, I brought you donuts! I want to be part of your life, I want to care for you and love you and all you are doing is making it hard for me!" Riley looked down then opened her mouth to say something but karlie was quick to continue "you have upset me and your mother. Your mom is so embarrassed you would behave like that, you have ruined her carpet, and my shoes! My favourite shoes Riley!" Karlie was getting upset again and her voice was breaking.

"I.... I didn't mean to" Riley croaked out feeling the heat of embarrassment and guilt she was hoping the floor would open up and swallow her whole. "But that's the thing Tiger, you did," Riley looked up shocked  "I'm...I'm sorry..." but quickly  looked down when she met Karlie's stern face. "I know your sorry but you have to understand what you did was wrong," karlie lifted Riley's chin so that she could look into her eyes "I'm very disappointed in you." Karlies words cut her like a knife. All she wanted was her moms attention and she created a whole mess. "D-disappointed.... don't... don't be... " Riley's voice was breaking and she felt as though this was it, Taylor and Karlie were going to drag her to the car and drive her to some orphanage and leave her there forever.

Riley's eyes were hot with blinding tears. "N-no... k-karlie.... don't be disappointed in me- I'm sorry I'm so sorry!!" Inside karlies heart was breaking, she didn't think getting an apology would be this easy. "I know your sorry bubba, but I-" she cleared her throat and stood up "I, I'm going to have to punish you, you understand that right?" Karlie said gently then perched herself on the bed. Riley nodded and stood up.

"Come here" karlie commanded gently. It was like a death sentence to Riley and all she wanted to do was make a run for it. As though she could read Riley's mind karlie quickly grabbed her arm and gently guided her over to stand in front of her. Riley held onto Karlie's pant leg and gripped the fabric hard, she was avoiding Karlie's eyes at all costs "Ri.... Riley, look at me" satisfied when Riley finally looked up she continued  " this punishment is for being naughty and pulling those mean pranks okay?" Karlie's voice was commanding but soft. Riley nodded looking down sadly.

Karlie quickly lifted Riley over her knee and brought 5 sharp smacks down on Riley's behind, and they took Riley by surprise. After the first smack Riley's eyes were watering, karlie was stronger than Taylor and it hurt. But karlie wasn't trying hard, she was actually trying her best to be as light handed as she could. After the fifth smack karlie was quick to lift Riley into her arms and rub circles into her back while whispering sweet words into her ear. "I love you little swift, even if you don't love me, I'm always going to be here to love and protect you, all is forgiven Bubba" karlie gently kissed the top of Riley's head and held her close. Riley cried herself out and lay in karlie arms breath hitching. "I *gasp* I'm *gasp* so so *gasp* so sorry" Riley was struggling to speak with her breathing.

Karlie nodded " I know, but all is forgiven, nobody is mad at you anymore" karlie lifted Riley into her arms and slowly walked around the room cradling her and began breathing heavily so that Riley could mirror her breathing "come on, deep breath in.... hold it... then out- good girl!! Good girl you got it baby!" Karlie grinned and kissed the top of Riley's head "good girl, you wanna go see mommy?" Riley nodded then reached out towards her bed "blankey?" The child squeaked out, karlie picked the blanket up and wrapped it around Riley then quickly attacked the child with tickles when she was least expecting it.

"Noooo noooo!!" Riley squirmed in fits of giggles fighting against karlie's hand. Karlie walked downstairs and saw Taylor sat of the sofa trying to find a movie to watch, she quickly sat beside her and let Riley go to her mother. Taylor was shocked at how fast Riley dived into her arms. "Woah baby- whats wrong?" Taylor instinctively wrapped her arms around her child and rocked her but it didn't calm Riley at all, the child was just an uncontrollable mess of sobs and apologies "don't hate me- I'm sorry" "please don't hate me.... I didn't mean to.... I'm sorry I'm sorry... I'm sorry.." Taylor frowned, she hated to see her so upset. "Baby talk to me what's wrong?"

"I didn't mean to be bad.... bad in school... the... the boys s-s-stole my bear.... T-T-ted is gone" Riley sobbed into her mother's chest and Taylor bit her lip. "The boys at school?" Karlie asked gently stroking Riley's hair.

"Y-yes....."
