Chapter 8

"J..Josh?", i called out. There was no reply for a second, but then i felt someone standing over me.
" It's me, I'm here", he confirmed. All sorts of feelings washed over me in that moment, i was relieved mostly, but i didn't know what to do or how to act so i just..Cried. Tears cascaded down my face and i stood up and hugged him tightly, he was soaking wet with blood. He hugged me back.
" I thought i lost you for a second there", i said whilst trying to hold back the sobs.
" Don't be silly, i'd never leave you", he said and rubbed my back soothingly.
" We need to get moving baby", he said and pulled away slightly. The nickname made me blush profusely, he brought me in for a tender kiss which didn't help out. He took my hand and carefully took me out of the basement and up the stairs, was it over ? We made it to the stairs that lead us up to ground floor, when we got there i could see sunlight shining through, it must be over. We made our way through the corridor that would take us to the common room and then to the exit, it should have been over...
Josh gasped suddenly and then started choking, he dropped to the floor and panted heavily, it wasn't over...
" Josh ! What? What is it ?", i asked and knelt down beside him. He looked up at me and smiled wickedly, his eyes were light yellow/gold.
" I'm back baby, did you miss me ?", he asked. I jumped up and ran down the corridor but he grabbed me from behind and wrestled me to the ground. I kicked and shoved him but her persisted and crawled on top of me, he managed to straddle me and proceeded to punch me in the face over and over. I yelped out in pain each time his fist connected with my cheek. He then locked his hands around my throat and squeezed, i gasped for air, and tried to pry his hands off of me but he was too strong. I managed to punch him in the face, catching him off guard and he fell to the floor beside me. I struggled to crawl away but he grabbed my legs and pulled me back to him.
" You're not leaving, no one leaves, NO ONE!", he yelled in my ear and started strangling me again. I elbowed his stomach a few times but it didn't do anything, i saw a piece of wood beside me, i picked it up and walked him over the head with it. He groaned in pain and let me go to grab his head where i hit him. I got up and ran, there was a window right in front of me so instead of heading towards the exit it jumped through it, smashing the glass and falling into some over grown grass. I didn't even look back, i floored it out of there and to the front gate.
I stopped for a moment and looked around, i was free, but Josh was still in there, and possessed by an evil spirit. I had no option but the go back and retrieve Josh. I took a deep breath and gathered the courage to walk up to the front door and go back inside. I walked into the common room and looked around, he was no where to be found, i walked back into the hallway where he attacked me and heard someone in one of the rooms, i looked inside and found Josh with a shard of glass slicing up his wrists.
" Josh no!" i yelled and ran over to him. He looked up at me and smiled.
" Aww, couldn't leave without your boyfriend, how sweet", he cooed. He didn't even sound like Josh anymore, his voice was incredibly deep and had a slight echo to it, he sounded demonic.
" Josh are you in there?", i asked. He cocked his head to the side and walked towards me, clutching onto the shard of glass so hard it pierced through his skin and blood poured out of his palms.
" Hush little faggot don't you cry, the doctors gonna stab you until you die", he sung to me sinisterly. I backed away from him and out into the hallway, he followed. I walked out into the corridor and he followed me there. He charged towards me with the shard and grabbed me, driving it into my shoulder. I screamed as he twisted it inside me, i turned my head and bit him, he groaned and retreated, pulling the glass with him. I punched him in the face as hard as i could and he flew back, when he recovered he swung the glass as me, i dodged him. I wondered briefly if the spirits could leave the building, he did say that no one leaves, maybe he was referring to the ghosts. I grabbed Josh by the throat, he stabbed me in the back, i yelped in pain but tried to ignore it as i dragged him out of the building, as soon as he was out he fell limp in my arms. I rested him on the floor carefully, he opened his eyes and squinted at the excess amount of sunlight.
" Josh ? Are you there?", i asked. He looked over at me with a confused expression, his eye were back to normal.
" What happened? Why is there a gash on your lip?", he asked and sat up to assess my face.
" Hey Josh"
" What?"
" We made it, we're out of the asylum", i laughed. He looked around and smiled widely.
" Oh yeah we are", he giggled. We stood up and limped over to the front gate. It was then he noticed i had a shard of glass sticking out of my back.
" Oh my God! Tyler you.. Don't move ! Don't move ! We need to get you to the hospital ! Oh Jesus", he panicked. I laughed because he was being cute and caring about me.
" Chill, it isn't bleeding too badly because the glass is still in there, my shoulder on the other hand..", i said and revealed my sliced up shoulder, it was bleeding profusely and i began to feel a little light headed.
" Oh shit! Okay i'll get you to the hospital, don't panic, don't panic", he said and helped me walk a few blocks away where our local hospital was..
