Rabia
I live on an Island, making a living from looting off of people. I'm a thief and I never get caught . . . well almost never, but I always get away with it though. With two daggers equipped in my hands –which I have stolen of course- I have trained myself to be a decent assassin. Sometimes, but rarely, I get paid to do some bounty hunting. All was life as usual, until that fateful day.
Pirates from wherever they could have come from raided our village. Now see, I'm one of those people. Ya know? Those people that do stupid stuff for no good reason.
The ship was left on the docks and was alone and unguarded so I did what any thief would do. I climbed aboard the huge ship. First I went into a room on the top deck, which looked like the captain's office. There was a map on the desk. I snatched it and ran out and found a hatch on the floor. I opened it and jumped down and landed in the cellar. My eyes sparkled. There in the darkness glowed and shined a beautiful pile of gold. There's two things I love in the world: chocolate and money. And right in front of me sat a ton of money. I was just standing there in the dark, blank minded. Then the silence was broken by a sudden sound of footsteps and voices " . . . Aye, just toss 'em in the cellar." Then four large bags fell from the ceiling and gold and diamonds and other shiny goodies poured out of the bags when they hit the floor.
About five or six in the morning, I've finally finished counting the riches in the cellar. 538,023 pieces of gold and 752 gems like diamonds, rubies, and emeralds. I studied the map from earlier, it leads to the island of Golden Sand. I've heard of this legendary place but whether or not the sand is actually gold is unknown. But what I am certain of is that I would be hella rich if I could get there.
"Hey, wake up, you little vermin!" The first thing I saw was a brown leather boot. I looked up and saw a bearded man staring down at me. He seemed to have a few missing teeth. I clutched the closest bag of money, jumped and ran up the stairs. "Hey! Get back here!" I heard the man yell out behind me. I got out of the cellar and saw the deck filled with men all staring at me. My heart sank. "Get her!" I heard someone call out behind me. I swung the bag over my shoulder and ran off the ship followed by a bunch of pirates yelling and shouting at me.
The ship had landed on a new island. I ran on the soft, wet sand, seeing tall towers in the distance. Finally reached the city, I thought I lost the pirates. I could still hear the yelling, but it was very faint. I looked over my shoulder and saw the chaos was barely there. I turned the corner, sat on the ground with my back against a wall, breathing heavily. I was exhausted. "Hey?" I heard a voice from above me say. This time it wasn't so gruff and deep but a bit high and soft. I stood up and saw the voice came from a girl who was a bit shorter than me, kinda chubby, with long black hair wearing a blue silk dress. The girl was holding a big staff and at the top was a blue orb. "Hello," I answered.
She asked, "You're not from around here, are you?"
"Nope," I replied, "I came in from the pirated ship over at the docks."
"Pirates!?"
"Heh, yeah"
Then I heard footsteps. I quickly stood flat against the wall, grabbed the girl by her mouth and pulled her back against the wall, silently waiting for the crowd of steps to pass us. I relaxed and let out a puff of air, "Whew, that was close". The girl stiffly pointed and in the direction she was pointing, there was one of the pirates and he smiled revealing his yellow broken teeth, "Gotcha." We were standing in a narrow alley so I jumped up at a wall, jumped up to the next and jumped up back to the first, then I dropped back down to the man and stabbed him with both daggers, one in each shoulder. As I landed on the ground and pulled my daggers down, they dug deeper into his back. He let out a scream as I pulled my daggers out his flesh (god I hate getting blood stains on my stuff) and he fell to the ground. I saw the girl just standing there, glaring, wide eyed and unblinking and clutching on to her staff with both hands.
