(A/N: This is just a little story I wrote up a long time ago because I was kinda depressed at the time. I was browsing a website for desgarded manga plots and ideas, and a few caught my eye. I molded them into one story and pretty soon it just started to flow. I know it isn't very well thoughtout, but please no hate. Also, Nazomi (the main character) is kind of a reflection of how I was at the time. If you find this depressing, don't read. And last but not least, this is rated for mentions of a suicide attempt.)

Part I - Bad Beginnings

Arany (The Wind Plate) and Ezust (The Earth Plate) are two broad and flat plate-like continents parallel to each other in a way that if someone from Arany would look up at the sky, he would see someone who's living in Ezust and vice versa. In the middle of these two plates is a another plate made out of unbreakable hard glass (The Reverse Plate), which is there to cancel out the reverse gravities of the two worlds.

Eighteen years ago…

The people of Ezust, in hopes of gaining domination, started to attack the land of Arany, unaware of the glass plate in the center of the two lands. In response, the people of Arany moved in to attack as defense.

As a result, the Reverse Plate cancelled out both attacks and sent the force back to their homelands tenfold. [Example: if the one was to send a missile flying to Arany from Ezust, the Reverse Plate would send the missile back with more power.]

So, as you can image the aftereffects of both attacks were devastating. Both of the continents were left in ruins, the people barely struggling to survive. That is when a mutual hate for each other formed.

Unknown to Ezust, a new breed of criminals on Arany was on the rise. Using tools called "Flash Boxes", one is able to simulate 11 days (264 hours) without sleep, forcing the glands into a hyperactive state. The effects of a Flash Box last 48 hours followed by near-fatal cardiac arrest (usually leading to death), but during that time the user's senses and nervous system exceed superhuman levels.

These criminals call themselves "The Choiceless" wearing blood-stained cloaks and wooden masks to hide their faces, deformed by lack of sleep.

Now, you see, in each continent (before the attack) there used to be one person given the title the “Prophet” or “Prophetess.” This person had glowing blue eyes and white hair. They were important to the continents because, before each of their deaths, they spoke a passage giving hints of the future. The last ones ever to be born in either continents were both killed during the attacks.

However…

before their deaths, both of them spoke of the same thing, “nine children blessed at birth with the hand of Midas would be the saviors of these lands and bring Arany and Ezust out of the ashes. The nine children would be the only ones who would be able to shatter the barrier between Ezust and Arany and bring its people together.” Then, they died and another Prophet/Prophetess was never born.

The Choiceless found out about the prophecies and vowed to destroy these children before they could ever find the true extends of their power and learn to control it.

So, while all of that Choiceless stuff is going on in Arany, the younger class (nine-years-olds to nineteen-year-olds, usually war orphans) of Ezust, in a hunger for entertainment, started a new way to challenge each other: Graffiti Wars.

By wearing protective clothing for the atmosphere pressure (leather, goggles, aviator helmets) and a new technology for creating long ropes, they hang from the glass sky with a hook and they try to do graffiti on it, there are no rules, it's just that whoever does it better earns more respect from his/her plate.
