disaster. Accusations everyday, she
didn't know why. All her calls would be
ignored, he's on his own time."I know it's hard, but you can always come to me if you need a guys perspective on things," I spoke to Genéve.
"Yeah I know, maybe I should just tell you the rest now," her voice muffled through the phone.
It was 2 AM at this point, Grayson came back home 4 hours after I asked him to leave, neither of them saw each other so that was a breath of relief.
"Only if you're ready," I smiled through the phone although she couldn't see me.
"Well things began to go downhill six months into the relationship..."
Genéve paced around her room, hands running through her hair. Jonathan hadn't been answering her lately, she was scared to death that something had happened to him.
Genéve: Jonathan, please answer me, are you okay? I'm worried
No response, she plopped down on her bed and laid down. "Maybe if I take a nap, things will be better when I wake up," she thought to herself.
A couple hours passed of her sleeping in her bed when she was awoken by furious pounding on her door.
"Genéve! Go get the damn door!" Her mom yelled from her room. Groaning, she got up and went to the door. She opened it to see a restless Jonathan, his eyes had bags and his hair was ruffled in multiple directions.
She gasped in disbelief, instantly, she ran into his embrace but he didn't hug back. Her head was on his chest and she hugged him tightly, her arms pleading to be hugged back. She pulled away confused and looked up to his eyes. They were furious, "Whats wrong?" She asked with a sniff.
"I cant believe you." He sternly said to her, pushing her slightly away from him.
"What do you mean?" Her face contorted into bewilderment, instantly thinking of what he could've been talking about.
"You cheated!" He yelled, "I saw you with fucking Ethan!"
"What? You know I always hang out with him! We're just friends, I swear, we did nothing!"
"No, I know you did, you're such a god damn hoe!" He was screaming at this point. Soon enough, Genéve's mom came and fetched her, taking her away from the scene.
"Wait, Ethan?"
She chuckled, "Yeah, he was my best friend. I told him everything, just like you. I think the reason why I was so drawn to you was because you reminded me of him, not just because of your name but you two have the same personality."
"Hmm," I hummed, "What happened to him?"
"As Jonathan and I's relationship faded, so did Ethan's. He was tired of him showing up to his house yelling threats at him even though he had no place to." She sighed, clearly sad from her lost friend.
"I'm so sorry, Genéve."
"Yeah, it's okay, I have you now," she chuckled through the phone. "Anyway, that's where everything started. From there on out he continued to blame me for things I had never done to him. He would always leave me on read or not even open my messages. Every call I made to him was declined and the list goes on and on. I was nothing but loyal to him, I loved him with all my heart but I guess that wasn't the case on his side."
"Well, just know that he's a complete jackass. I'll make sure no one hurts you like that again, you have my word."
I could sense her smiling through the phone, "Thanks." There was a long pause on the end of the line until she spoke again, "I have to get to bed now, you know, college and all. You should too."
"Okay, that's fine."
"Goodnight Ethan."
"Goodnight Genéve."
