"Do you want to stay at my house tonight or do you want me to drop you back home?" Tom asked me as we were in the car.
"Erm, is it possible to stay at your house. Things at home are not great." I said quietly.
"Sure, why do you think I would ask if you couldn't?" he asked me. "You are always doing that." he said with a smirk. He knew me better than to ask about my house. That's what I love about Tom. He always knows when to ask questions and when not to. He never pressurises me into answers either.
When we got to Toms house we walked into the hallway quietly. It was quarter past twelve and we didn't want to wake up his sisters or brother. His parents were probably still awake. They never went to sleep until they knew that all their children were nice and safe. That's what I always love about Toms family. They loved each other so much and they also had always said that I was like another daughter to them, I was part of the family. If only it were true. I would give anything to really belong here.
I got changed once we reached Toms room and got in his bed. He did the same and got in the other side. "Hey Tom?"
"Yeah" he answered.
"Do you think that it is weird that when we sleep at each others houses that we share a bed?" I asked him suddenly. I had never asked him this before.
"No, not really. We always have, ever since the age of about 5, why do you ask? Do you think that it is weird?"
"No, just some people at school said that it was when they found out." I replied, feeling a little ashamed that I even listened to them.
"Cor, when do you ever listen to what they have to say? Come on, lets go to sleep."
