I jolted with a start as I heard sirens going off in the distance. I looked up as a young girl dashed out of the glass revolving door of the jewellery shop. She stopped to catch her breath and panted and created mist in the frosty winter night. I straightened my back and glanced from side to side. I saw the blue and red flashes of light coming from down the bridge, snow flecking the roads. I sat up straight on the hard, wooden chair and took in the strange sight before me.

The young girl sprinted out of the shop and down the road. She slipped, and she lost grasp of the bag she was holding. She winced in pain as she clasped her ankle. She got up and hobbled away, leaving the bag behind. I got up from the bench I was sleeping on and rushed across the road to the jewellery store. By now, a thin layer of ice was forming in the dead of the night on the road. I looked inside the jewellery shop, to see a bizarre sight.
