Everything was so sudden and no one saw it coming. Frank was submerged into his work meticulously preparing the raw carcasses for the machine's consumption. Little did he know what would come next before his eyes.
The floors were flooded with one inch of blood and the boots of some of the workers were damp with the horrendous sensation. All it took was a wrongful step and in Frank went, into the meat grinder that his income had depended on. His companions witnessed the machine chomp him into the flesh and tear it into shreds like a paper shredder. It was a only a moment that the screams lasted until Frank became a batch of "Shutter's Ground Beef".
The news of the death was broadcasted for the nation to hear but a minor detail was left out from the factory for obvious reasons.
". . .Here I stand in front of Shutter's Ground Beef factory, where it was reported there was accident regarding Mr. Frank Trent. . ." said the formal woman in the television afternoon's news.
Mrs. Trent crumpled into a corner and sobbed when the officers came with the dreadful news. She crippled herself into a unanticipated silence that took over while she prepared today's supper. Her son, Timothy, looked up his mother with glassy eyes that failed to keep themselves dry, both sat in the kitchen with an extra chair and ate their food.
"This. . ." Tim began.
His mother looked up with deepening sorrow.
"This. . .This is great, mother." He tried for a smile as he scooped up his spoonful of food and moved it towards his inanimate mother who began to smile back.
"I'm glad you like it."
"I bought the it as soon as they were restocking in the stores, it's fresh."
A can of Shutter's Ground Beef laid on top of their trash can, it came out the same day Frank's fate was sealed.
". . .Actually. . .I think it tastes better."
Timothy ate some more unknown by the hidden fact about his father death.
