Chapter 15: Eddie Proposes

Loren's Point Of View.

The hot water runs down my body, the walls surrounding me steaming from the heat of the water. Showering is one of the greatest things ever. It makes me feel so fresh and joyous. Lastly, it's when you're showering you happen to think the most.

I've been wondering if it would be the worst thing ever if I dropped out of school, or if I finished school but don't go to college. Music is my passion and I don't need a college degree for me to live my dream out till it's fullest. Also, I could always go to college later in a few years if that's what I want to do then. Now I just really want to focus on my career.

My fingers run through my hair, rinsing out the shampoo I had left in for a few minutes. Hope Eddie doesn't mind me staying in the shower for a few extra minutes.

And just as I'm about to grab the shower gel, the bathroom door flings open, startling the crap out of me. Eddie laughs once he notices how startled I get. "Why didn't you wake me?" He groggily asks. He's so sexy in the mornings with that sleepy morning voice and bed head.

"You seemed tired." I shout over the noice of the water being on.

"I am." He yawns.

"I hope it's okay I'm just standing here without really doing anything." I giggle and do a double tap once I realize Eddie's still naked from last night. "You're naked."

"And you're using all the hot water." He smartly replies while brushing his teeth. He then joins me in the shower with his arms wrapped around me from behind. We both just stand there, letting the warm water run down our bodies. I cleanse his hair. It's so satisfying to run my fingers through his soft, tick hair. It's starting to get longer too.

After showering, we get dressed and have breakfast together. I have waffles with strawberries. The strawberries are still a little bit frozen but I don't mind. It just means they're just taken out of the freezer. Eddie has some regular toast and coffee of course. I made myself some quick strawberry smoothie from what was left of the bag. And I have coffee as well.

As we're eating, we discuss what I should do about school and college. Eddie says it's completely my decision and he'll support me whatsoever but he thinks I'd be happiest if I graduate and then take a break from school for a few years until I suddenly decide I want to go.

I tell him I am leaning towards that option too but that I'm nervous to tell my mom if I decide to not go through with college immediately. Being the guy I fell for, he quickly calms me down and tells me to not think about that this second, but instead concentrate on the fact that we're recording our songs in two hours. Sounds like a good plan to me.

I phone Melissa only to have Adam answer. "Hi it's me."

"Oh hi Loren. It's me, Adam. Melissa's still asleep." He says.

"Good she's getting some sleep. Are you at the hospital?" I ask and get my leather makeup bag.

"Yeah we slept in the waiting area on these hard chairs,  just her and me. Everyone else went home late last night, but Melissa wanted to stay just in case Beth woke up."

"Has she woken up? Beth?"

"No not yet, but I can let you know once she does or when Mel gets back."

Adam is so polite and he's so good for my Mel, it makes me so happy. "Thank you Adam and thank you for staying with her. I'll swing by later when I'm done recording in the studio."

"You're such a rockstar Loren." Adam chuckles.

"I know right?" We both laugh and shortly after I hang up and decide to get ready to hit the studio. "Eddie, what should I wear? I was thinking something glittery yet dark and edgy. I really like the new style Kelly's been testing on me."
