To whoever it may concern you must know that, It wasn't always like this.

I can clearly remember those times where father would come from a long trip and tell my brother and me about his adventures beyond our imagination.

Mother would sit and saw patterns in the new sets of fabric with a grin on her face at our interactions.

It wasn't always like this,

They once were proud about my brother's fast learning and cleverness, often reminded to be more like him every passing day of my childhood.

His name was followed by a praise while mine was compared.

It wasn't always like this,

Nightmares would haunt my dreams after every encounter with my cousin Bella but I found comfort in my brother's embrace.

Him and I were close.

It wasn't always like this,

Until that damned September first, where a letter arrived at midnight with life changing news. The first born, my older brother was a traitor.

My family divided, my brother didn't trust me anymore and I was lost.

Because what should a kid do when they're force upon a war and his morals are divided.

I'm scared of the monster I will become and my actions that embrace me like my own shadow.

And sometimes I question my sanity, but maybe I will be forgiven.

If by dying I will be forgiven let my last breathe be my apology.
