people would joke that school was like hell.
to her it was hell.
even her own home was better than school.
even the sad look in her mother her eyes was better than the hurtful words they threw at her.
she used to be happy at home.
but one day the words people threw at her made her shut up.
she was muted and her mother didn't care.
that was one of the things she did to cope.
to cope with the pain.
she did other things to cope.
things her dad used to say that are for crazy people.
she guessed she was crazy
like a body without a soul
she had voices in her head
the only emotions she felt were the ones she didn't want to feel
it had been like that for a long time.
she doesn't know why she doesn't end it
set herself free
finally let the voices win
to let darkness take over her.
people wanted her dead.
she was still alive
why?
she didn't know
maybe it was for her mother.
her poor annoying mother who was broken herself.
maybe she was still alive because she had a lot of books she still had to read
though reading didn't make her happy
neither did music.
but it always managed to calm her
to chase the monsters out of her head
even if it wasn't for long
she was grateful for that.
every night she went to bed with the same question in her head.
why me?
