Princess Riley

CHAPTER ONE

It was almost lunch time when I looked up from my favorite book The Night. If I was late for lunch my parents would kill me! I had a habit of being late for things and my parents, being the king and queen of Shiro, hated when I did anything un-princess like.

I jumped up from my bed where I was reading and quickly brushed out my long blond hair and ran downstairs to the dining hall. When I got there my parents looked strangely happy for me being late.

We ate lunch awkwardly, while my parents smiled at me and looked at each other every five seconds. Before I could get up and go my mom stopped me.

"Riley, me and your father have something to discuss with you." my mom said, motioning for me to sit. Here it comes I thought, sitting down hesitantly.

"Riley, as you know you are sixteen, which means you will be becoming queen in two years." my dad started "This means you will be needing a um... king."

I gasped realizing what he meant. "Yes Riley, we want you to find a suitor before your eighteenth birthday." my mom said as she smiled.

My mom was beautiful when she smiled. She is always beautiful with her blond hair that she passed on to me. My dad also had blond hair but it was darker.

I loved my parents so much and the thought that they trusted me to pick a suitor made me so happy.

I smiled, knowing I knew already who my suitor would be. I had to tell Cameron as soon as I could.
