Fail was comforting Collision, while everyone else was awake. He had woken up to the sound of crying, only to find the least excepted person to cry-Collision.Fail knew his past, his saddening past.He patted the scientist's back as he sobbed, not minding the discomfort he had.Pitch and Cabier had came back with him, which they both had been trying to create nightmares;for a good reason of course.Fail had been trying to calm a hurricane down, which was as stubborn as a mule, refusing to move.Collision smiled at him whispering,"Thank you,my friend.".And with that sentence,he was fine, and Fail could be sleeping in peace."I thank you again for your kindness,Fail."He said, before disappearing swiftly from the room leaving only Fail.
Pitch was out of the castle, perhaps spying on the Guardians;Fail couldn't blame him either.Collision was always curious about Science and the wonders of the world which he will beckon for Fail to come and look at his new contraption.Although they were in the world of magic,it didn't fascinate him as much as Science.Fail knew that Collision could travel through not only the world of space and time but also dreams;the dreams that you immediately forget when you wake up means that he was there and perhaps took an interest in you.
Fail always hope that Collision would have happy experiences, even in an indirect way.The laboratory was interesting to Fail too, with all its gadgets and machinery. The grip on Moors' storybook brought unwanted attention to his arm.It felt so..odd to him,he couldn't feel the once pulsing blood in it anymore, just the whirring and clicking of machines. He'd never had any interest in the modern technology of humans.Besides,it's not like you have the time for it.
He walked to his room, which was clean(other than the missing photo)and tidy,it was simple with jars of anger on the shelves, pounding against the glass wanting to get free. There were books which he had borrowed from Grace on the table, which wasn't really appealing to him tho.He sighed, and stared at the moon, his brown eyes fixating its' gaze on the bright, round Moon.Tsar had sent his moonbeams to light the rooms cloaked in shadows,he even tried reasoning with the Nightmare King, but Pitch refused to let the children go.
He sent the spectral boy named Nightlight,The First Guardian,to fight the Fearlings and push The Nightmare King back.It wasn't the first time Nightlight had done this before, the boy had been Tsar's very own bodyguard and once stabbed the diamond dagger through Pitch's heart and entrapped himself in Pitch's heart in order to save Tsar.
He sent a wonderful girl named Katherine to read stories to the children,to fend off the terror and fears off their minds with colorful pictures, poems and rhymes. And Tsar sent the wise, old,Atlantis wizard named Ombric to train the children how to guard their minds against the fear Pitch had tried to bring forth. And yet,The Nightmare King would not release his hold onto the children.
Tsar watched the many times that North and Pitch would clashed in battle,Nightlight did his hardest and best efforts to protect the children from Fearlings each and every night.North would travel with Ombric in search of sacred items to help their cause. But ev-no,evil wasn't the word for Fail's council.Fear was needed, but neither one of them were good nor evil. But Pitch is cunning like a fox and often shreds their plans into pieces and make off with some of North's wondrous creations.Tsar was no fool,he needed to send more help.
And so he sent a Pooka, the last of his kind.
This Pooka had made his home on Earth, reshaping it to stop it's spiral into the Sun,creating new lands,plant-life and creatures to fill the world's wilds. He governed the travel of time, insuring that those who wished to see the past only saw it but did not interfere. The Pooka was also an amazing candy maker, which was a bonus considering that something sweet, colorful and delicious often distracted and comforted a children from immediate threats.
The Pooka had seen the destruction of Pitch, the death of his very own species and held a very deep hope that the same would not happen to his beloved planet. He committed himself to learning all he could possibly learn about magic and battle. So Tsar sent E.Aster Bunnymund to help North and the other Guardians to battle Pitch.
And still,The Nightmare King would not free the children from their fears.
The Council could only stood and watched with Tsar as North,Bunnymund and Nightlight push the Nightmare King away from the children of the world, and as moonbeams clear up any stray Fearlings they came across.Perhaps, they had succeeded this time. But then they had saw Pitch had merely made a tactical retreat, and had fallen back on some his own allies;a scorned maharaja who had his humanity taken away, leaving him deformed, and his army of monkeys which made him The Monkey King. They knew this threat was greater and more dangerous and sent yet another Guardian to protect their dear children.
Her name was Toothiana, and she was half human and half bird. Her mother was one of the legendary Sister's Of Flight,a race of proud immortal winged women who flew the jungles and protected the mythical winged elephant.Elephants never forget, and soon Toothiana learnt that a child's tooth holds important memories of childhood. And she flew around the world, collecting the children's fallen teeth and rewarding them with coins, jewels and trinkets. As a accomplished warrior herself, she made a fine addition to the Guardians, protecting the children and keeping their memories safe.
But even with his allies defeated,Pitch would not stop sending fears into children's minds.
Tsar looked over the ocean with one of the water spirits' help in the Council,Aqua and spotted a person he had seen before, many years ago, piloting a shooting star. This little sandy man could grant wishes with his dreams, knew everything there was known to dreaming, and heard every single wish that was directed to his little ship. The Council and Tsar knew that he would be yet another addition to the Guardians, and asked him to join his cause in protecting their little ones.
Sanderson Mansnoozie held a certain fondness for children and was very silent when sending out dreams and granting wishes, for fear he may accidentally disturb the children from their slumber if he spoke. So,silently and steadily,he joined the Guardians and pushed away the nightmares with his sweet dreams of his own design allowing the children to sleep peacefully in the night.Too sweet for Venom's taste,it was very inhuman of Sandy to send out such dreams for Venom.
And still,.The Nightmare King remained stationary.
Fail couldn't blame him,Pitch'd only wanted to be acknowledged and in the first time of his immortal life,Fail knew what loneliness felt like.It was cold, dark and unwanted. It was like the deadly cold air itself, nipping at your heart and sanity.
And lastly, there was Jack Frost.A winter spirit,a boy named Jackson Overland Frost.Jack was a good spirit at heart,The Council and Tsar knew that, they were very positive that Jack could finally stop Pitch. But deep at the Council's hearts they knew that no one acknowledged them.No one knew about their plans and alliance, and one question remained in their hearts:
"What is to become of Us?"
Tsar was their friend of course,but..what about the Guardians?Would they still remember them..even in their black cloaks?Fail didn't know..he so much different that hundreds of years ago.Venom became colder and Grace became more silent.Ernaline was hostile,Moors was depressive, and Collision's sanity will break at some point or another. And Fail himself was..at lost..he didn't know what became of ,he was more duller, less cheerful.Jester was still optimistic, but his sanity was like a madmen, his grin was not soft but rather maniacal.Cabier's words were like cold blades that cut through your heart,he didn't care anymore,he couldn't.And Fail really wished that things had started differently,a long, long time ago.If the Council hadn't just stand there and watch only helping Tsar with the Guardians, the future would've change.
But it didn't."We go by many names,
And take many forms.
We watch over the children of the world,
For they are all that we have.
All that we are,
And all that we will ever be."
